So I have been in it 4 times in 4 days. I have noticed a few things:
Day one 12 minutes, I didn't sweat for the first 10 then it started
Day two 15 minutes, started sweating at about 8 minutes
Day three 20 minutes, was sweating in 5 minutes (got chapped lips this time)
Day four 25 minutes, body started sweating within like 2 minutes.
I read in my instructions that the top temp wasn't as important as getting in there while the sauna is heating up, this way the heaters are fully on the whole time you're in. So I turn it on, wait about 15 minutes, I get in at about 90ish degrees. I apply chapstick now before I go in. I set the top temp for 125 - 130 but haven't reached it yet. Last night was almost there when I got out it was about 121.
I drink a big glass of water before I get in and again when I get out
I sit on a towel and bring in a towel because I read that if you leave the sweat sitting on the skin you could theoretically re-absorb the toxins you sweat out, so I wipe off during the sauna. After I take a cool shower
It always feels amazing to me in there, like the warmth of the sun sinking in to my body. After last night I was so relaxed I could barely think and was one with the couch. I felt like a total sloth, normally I'm kind of high strung.
Then this morning I felt my first herx since I have been off of abx. Migraine, disoriented, feeling spacy. I started the burbur tincture and it seems to be getting a bit better. The skin neuropathy has also flared back up so there's parts where I feel that biting stinging. My right arm feels weak and my hands are feeling stiff again.
One other thing I've noticed is it takes forever for my legs to start to sweat. I have always experienced a fair amount of pain and muscle tightness in my legs, so maybe there's a lot going on there, or maybe it's because there are less heaters on the lower part of the sauna.
Am I doing this right? Should I keep going in daily? Should I increase the time or adjust a bit at this level before increasing time. I read that the full therapeutic benefits are received at 40 minutes. I think if I did that now I'd really herx myself.
