I have to ask. Can't really get an answer from anybody. What on earth are the weird noises im hearing coming fro the back of my head? They sound like they are squishing noises located at the back of head by where my spine meets. It also sometimes sounds like a clicking sound a beetle would make. Does anyone else have this or know what could be causing it?

Do you hear these sounds when you are moving your head or neck? Or is it sounds that always happens?

I think I know what you mean - I've always assumed it's fluid or something. Have you tried asking your doctor about
it?

I've had action around my brain stem area and running along the bottom of my skull ridge where the neck meets, occipital area.
It sound and feels crunchy, broken glass like, and what you said in clicking sounds. I've had it since Oct 2010. It was much worse as my neck seized there and now with me on treatment for 2 months I'm hoping will ease than get rid of this symptoms. It's a symptom for me.
I hear and feel it moving my head, laying down, whatever. It's there.

Borderlyme - I remember telling him along with my million other symptoms at one time, but no. I never narrowed it down and really talked about
it.
waverunner - What do you mean by seized? My neck was really stiff around the time I went to the hospital 6 months ago with encephalitis. Matter fact it hurt so bad with pressure pains I thought for sure I had menegitis. I think I remember the cracking and whooshing sounds more also.
Still dont fully understand why this is happening. I will ask my doctor next month.

Hi. Okay, when I got my first "hit" of symptoms but didn't know they were lyme symptoms, in a 48 hour period I got tinnitis, broken sleep, rapid thoughts. That obvious.
And at 2 am both mornings in a row, in the 48 hours period, I awoke up with the inside of my head feeling toxic or infected, fever feeling outside on forehead, and back of neck, skull area we are discussing feeling fevered and tight, not kidding.
The third morning I awoke, incredible pain in back of head, muscles, fiascia tissue which is connective tissue was all tight and knotted. I couldn't lift my head off pillow without the aid of hand as it was so painful in tendons and joint and tight brainstem. Could hardly turn neck, the area seized up as in tight and lost flexibility.
Took months to pressure point work out knots there but left with lyme neck and weird sounds.
I have since found references to lyme neck. Some people talking about
it. I don't know if this is specifically what you meant so forgive me if I am off. Mine does that bug sound you mentioned as well.

*Mods, and admin, I apologize if putting another site on is out of order. I didn't know and thought it may be beneficial to show talks with people and neck trouble in this. Forgive me if I am off base.
Lists neck in symptoms, there's a ton of references to neck stuff if you google lyme neck crackling popping.

Lot's of action where my spine meets my neck. Chronic.
