I am starting on 3 months of Amoxicillian and Biaxin. My newest symptom is hair loss. So much on my brush that it is starting to really get me concerned. Anyone else
experiencing this?

I have lost quite a bit of hair. A lot on the top and sides. This has been going on for quite awhile. I know when it is really falling out as my head stings. I have been trying biotin as I heard on this site that it helps. I'm really hoping that this will reverse. Anyone had a lot of hair loss and had it all come back???

Lyme eats collagen and hair needs collagen. You might want to try silica gel supplements to help strengthen your hair. Silica will feed the collagen.
When I was a dog groomer one of my employees suddenly started getting carpal tunnel and lost almost all of her hair. None of us ever suspected Lyme at the time. Since I was diagnosed I wrote her to suggest it, but never heard back.

Do you think the Silica would be better than the Biotin I am presently taking or they would work together?

I got hair loss at my temples. :( Mostly the right one. I found a link with lyme spots, rashes, eye swelling and such and I have some of those. It also has a pic showing lymes hair loss further down at the end. I sure hope it comes back.

I just bought collagen for joints, perhaps it will help for hair? :) Thanks for that info.

I use biotin and it seems to help a lot (helps with nails too, which is a nice plus as mine are so brittle since getting sick!).
I've lost a decent bit of hair but it's all growing back nice and full which I attribute to the biotin. You might want to check your thyroid levels - while I'm sure lyme is a likely culprit as well, I know that the first time I lost hair it was when my thyroid levels were off - it's a simple enough blood test.

I am hypothyroid and have recently had my T4 and TSH tests done. Both are at the extreme high of the normal range. I have just starting taking a thyroid support that my ND gave me. I am going to see about
getting my thyroid meds adjusted as well. I thought that it could also be my problem.

i had some hair loss but im a guy in my 20s so it didn't seem too alarming. what was more noticeable to me was the condition of my hair went downhill very quickly becoming straggly, dry, and unhealthy looking (along with the 100 other symptoms i was having).
2 years post treatment it is now looking much more healthy and shiny again.
