LLMD in Southern Ontario, Canada

Hello all,

I'm looking to see if any Canadians on this board might know of any credible LLMD's in the Southern Ontario region as my current family physician is unwilling to help me through the process of finding a doctor, or even doing testing. Any and all help would be greatly appreciated!

There are two LLMDs in upper NY State.  One is in Buffalo and the other lives in Montreal, but practices in Plattsburg.  The CBC has done a couple of interviews with her on The Current.

Good luck starting on this journey.  You truely do have to be your own advocate. 

Unfortuatley there are not many LLMDs in Canada, and the ones that are were forced to stop treat Lyme or have their medical licences yanked.  Try finding and watching "Under Our Skin", and if you google Lyme in Canada/CTV, there are a few videos that come up on the issues and political storm around Lyme in Canada.  The more you know, the better you can advocate for yourself.

We see the LLMD in Buffalo. She combines herbal and homeopathic protocols with Abx (my daughter is on 2 Abx at the moment) as well as Buhner, Byron White and homeopathic detox. She is also addressing methylation issues with methylated b12, methyl b6, and methylfolate (as per Dr J's treatment of autism spectrum disorders in children), biofilms with a couple of enzymes, etc. My only issue with her is that she doen't really explain her reasons for using the protocols she uses. She encourages me to research the issues myself. I had no idea what most of the supplements were for when we started out, but 1 year later it all makes sense to me. She is not too heavy handed with the Abx, and actually tried to discontinue too early last fall, with a relapse after 3 months being the result. DD10 is back to 90% now. I'm not sure what her wait list is like, but it was only 3 weeks when we started with her in spring of 2011.  I know she sees a lot of Canadians from the Toronto area.

I have come across advertisements for a Lyme Clinic in Uxbridge, Ontario - about an hour north of Toronto. I know nothing about this clinic, other than their treatments are alternative medicine. I also don't have any kind of connection, nor do I receive any form of compensation from them for any reason.

If you are searching for a LLMD in your area, you can start a new thread titled something like:"Looking for LLMD in the _______ area." Although you will need to enable your email option in your profile in order to receive any recommendations, as we don't allow doctor's names and contact info to be posted on the forum for several reasons.
