Red Dots on Skin...Babesia Herx?

Hi All,

I've been taking Clindamycin (I think this is known to fight Babesia) for an infection and all the sudden noticed red dots, like someone took a red marker and left a tiny dot, on my skin. Would this indicate a Babesia herx?

This seems to be common in folks with Bb and other TBIs. As far as i know, I only have Bb - lots of it (or I did) - and had/have tiny bright red dots on my thighs and a few on my trunk. Dunno what causes them, just know they are common, bright red, tiny and do not itch. My LLMD and acupuncturist think they are indicative of the body detoxing.

I have them too. I'm not sure from which infection. I have Lyme, babesia, bart and erlichia. Make sure that you take a really good probiotic with clindamycin. S. Boulardii would be a good idea. Cleocin is known for causing C. Diff. I took it for a while. I didn't have any problems with it.

My husband also had this while in treatment for babesia. His trunk was covered in what looked like the measles. It has eventually gone away so I do beleive it was probably the toxins of some sort coming out.

one thing to consider, is now with the summer a lot of enteroviruses are going around. depending on where you have the red dots, and how long you've had them, you could have caught a virus. i went to the doctor this week bc i have had rashes and extreme fatigue and she said in my community Hand-Foot-and-Mouth virus is going around, which adults CAN catch. the only reason i mention this is because she had a normally healthy patient come in last week with what looked like red marker dots on her hands that was caused by the virus and a lot of fatigue. just something to consider, given i know our immune systems are pretty weak- these additional viruses in early summer will be easy to catch.

The dots i sm referring to seem specific to Lyme and tbis. They almost always only occur on the thighs and trunk and usually only with lyme patients.
