is this possibly a herx symptom? i upped my cats claw and GSE dosages (but am not on antibiotics) this past weekend and noticed a really sore throat, body temp of 99.8, headache, and white patches on my tonsils with swollen glands. Went to the doc bc feared strep throat and they said it was a viral infection. of course, the doctor i saw doesnt believe in chronic lyme.... but does anyone get this for a herx?

No this wouldn't be part of a herx most likely. At least not like one I've heard of yet. You need to get on an anti-viral of some sort. Do you have a practitioner that you can contact? It would be best to have someone who knows what you are on and that knows what all you are dealing with to help you with this, as we are not docs.

Its probably tonsil stones. See an ear nose throat doc. If you have had bad sore throats or strept in the pas your tonsils will develop holes and scars. They act as a filter when you are sick and catch a lot of bad stuff. Eventually, they'll form ntowhite patches n your holes and youcan see them on your tonsils, or sometimes you cant see them But feel like you have something bothering your tonsil. Do a gargle with salt water. Or listerine (dont swallow just gargle good). They eventually come out and go away. Or. See an ear nose throat doc and they can inspect it with a camera and remove them if necessary.

Did the doctor take a culture of your throat?

yes the doctor did a strep culture which came back negative. they said also based on how it looked, it looked viral

I had this when I started Rifampin. Mine was also on my tongue. My tonsils were very swollen. I couldn't swallow anything without severe pain. Mine was candida and it cleared up immediately with liquid nystatin.

If strep is ruled out, then it's cryptic tonsils (or tonsil stones). I had them for years and finally got rid of them when I did sinus irrigation with salt water and oil or oregano and then gargled with the same mixture.
