New here..can you take a look at my treatment plan?

Hi I'm Kerri and I'm new to the forum but not to Lyme. I first tested positive 20 years ago and have been treated on and off through the years. I had a positive Western Blot again back in December and was treated with abx for 4 months. Stopped for the past 3 months and got another positive test back from Igenix just a few days ago. I'm allergic to so many antibiotics that my doc put me on Amoxicillin cause its really one of the only ones I can tolerate. 1500mg 3 x a day. I'm also taking Grapefruit Seed Extract as a cyst buster twice a day. I'm drinking lemon water, dry skin brushing for detoxing and will be starting detox baths soon. Does this sound like an effective treatment plan or am I missing something? I know that no one here can give medical advice.. I'm just looking for opinions. Thank you! :)

Welcome to the forum.

It sounds like you are in good hands.

I guess the only thing I would say is that you need to make sure you are treated for four month beyond the resolution of symptoms. This will reduce the risk of a relapse.

Also, once you have reached a plateau in your treatment, consider adding one of the biofilm busters like interphase plus. That will make sure you really eradicate the infection.

When I took amoxicillin, we had it combined with probenecid to raise the effectiveness, but I ended up having an allergic response and had to stop taking it. I did not have any luck with GSE. I don't have any reaction positive or negative (herx) to it, but it's different for everyone and for some people, that might be an effective combo.

Sometimes LLMD's like to add something for the cell-wall deficient form as well like biaxin or zithromax. That might be something to ask about adding to your combo.

Are you seeing a LLMD? Are your symptoms resolving each time that you stop antibiotics or is your doctor suggesting stopping and re-testing? Usually I think once you have a positive test, a LLMD will continue treatment until all symptoms are resolved. Sometimes they re-test the CD57, but usually they don't keep doing the western blot once it's positive.

Yes I am seeing an LLMD now but I hadn't been for alot of years it was difficult to find someone who really knew how to treat me.

My symptoms didn't resolve when I stopped them this time. My regular doc thought maybe it was something going on that was not related to Lyme so she wanted to see if I noticed any difference off of the anyibiotics. I have since found an LLMD and she did the testing through Igenex and put me back on the antibiotics once we got the positive result.
