I'm sorry Rosary, I didn't realize that you were outside the US - narrow minded of me.
My bladder issues were present long before I ever had any adequate treatment for any of the tick-borne infections, as I was first infected at the age of 7 and didn't have my first treatment for any tick-borne infections until the age of 44.
Have you read Dr. Joseph Burrascano's paper, "Advanced Topics in Lyme Disease"? You can find a link in the 'New to Lyme?' thread. It's well written so that even patients can understand it, not to mention that a lot of LLMD's have based their treatments on what this man has had to say. I would highly encourage you to read it over several times. There is a lot of really good information in our 'New to Lyme?' thread at the top of the forum, if you haven't already, please do read through this!
Another good place to do some reading for your treatments would be Dr. Jones Kids -
www.drjoneskids.com/. Lots of good info there too!
As for detoxing options, yes!! There are several ways in which you can help your body detox without the aid of a tub - although I use a plastic livestock watering tub to soak in since we don't have a tub - or a bathroom large enough to add one. I'm quite sure that a picture of me in my tub would be hilarious! LOL!
You can use a foot detox soak - approx. 2 cups Epsom Salts (Magnesium Sulfate) and approx. 10 to 12 ounces of Hydrogen Peroxide and add approx. 1 to 1 1/2 gallons of
warm only water. You don't want the water very hot at all, as this will increase the effects of the detoxing - which can bring on a herx. Be sure to only keep your feet in the water for approx. 10 minutes, or that too can bring on a herx. So start off very slow, and then very gradually add in more time
or increase the temperature of the water - but not both, as - once again - it could bring on a herx.
Be sure to dry skin brush every day. Here is a link to show you the kind of natural bristle brush most of us use:
www.vitasprings.com/skin-brush-bernard-jensen.html If you can't get a brush like that, using a loofa sponge very lightly will work, as will a wash cloth that has been wetted and the left to air dry, although with the wash cloth, you will need to try to 'scrub' your skin with it, rather than using the brush or loofa you will only want to use light pressure. This helps the skin get back up to full potential of detoxing - the skin is our largest detox pathway, so this is important.
Drink at least 2 quarts of pure water daily - more would be better. If you aren't experiencing any muscle cramping/spasms, then add lemon to your water, as this will help bring the body back to an alkaline state which is not favorable for bacteria.
Parsley, cilantro, garlic, and carrots (lots of carrots!) will also help to stimulate the detox pathways.
Keep up the good work!! You can heal, although in your situation, you will definitely have to do a lot more work in researching the abx that are available to you, what to do if/when you plateau in your treatment and how to handle other possible situations in your treatment, you
can do this!!! Be sure to keep asking questions!
