Has anyone else seen this? WB Testing

My son has recently had new lab work done and he has a postive Elisa and a positive WB (IGM)

His WB (IGM) shows results for only three bands - 23, 39 and 41. He is reactive on 23 and 41, non-reactive on 39

Under the results on the test the lab (Quest) printed:

IgM western blots which have 2 (or more) of the 3 significant bands are considered positive for specific antibody to B. burdorferi. (Proceedings of the 2nd Conf. on Lyme Disease, Dearborn, MI, 1994)

Yes! He had positive Elisa and this one. I have had multiple tests done(over the past few years) and all you hear is "you have to have 5 bands" from the docs. And here, printed on this test, it says 2 bands. I am wondering how many people have missed being DX with Lyme because of this.

Maybe this is only news to me and you guys all knew this already? LOL!

Chris is getting treatment now in Tampa. He has a primary care doc, an immunologist, an allergist and an ID doc. He is on oral Doxy, and he is lined up for sub Q IG treatments. There may be more, we will find out in the next couple of weeks.
