thyroid nodules with lyme

Had ultrasound yesterday and tech mentioned presence of nodules.  I need to wait for radiologist report but has anyone experienced thyroid nodules during their lyme treatment?  Wondering it there is a connection.  I am be treated for babesia and lyme.  Thyroid blood tests are always in normal range but I know thyroid can cause many of the same symptoms as lyme.  And I know lyme can screw with the hormones.  So another thing to worry about and I'm sure I'll be off to see an endocrinologist soon.  Thanks

Just make sure your Doctor tests your t 3 t4 levels for thyroid. The endocrinologist I went to see only checked my TSH level and deemed everything "normal". However after continuing problems I went to a hormone specialist who tested all my levels of thyroid and adrenal function. Those more advanced tests proved hypothyroidism and low adrenal function which has been successfully treated with medication. If I took the first doctors word I would still not have addressed these problems. Also because of the adrenal/thyroid issues I became hypoglycemic which caused several bad episodes.

I've had lyme symptoms and thyroid nodules for years. All thyroid hormones have been relatively in the range so I really think it could be from the lyme.

I have had thyroid nodules for years both prior & during the Lyme. Mine have stayed stable during the Lyme Tx. My endocrinologist says that nodules aren't really that unusual. We just know about mine because of the scans that are part of the routine thyroid care.

Hi! I just joined this forum and have recently been diagnosed with late stage neuro lyme disease. I too had a thyroid ultrasound done and have nodules. Current doctor has never felt concerned about it? I am still trying to get in with a LLMD but the wait is 6 months. My current doctor is treating me with minocycline 100mg bid for the lyme. I feel that the spirochete has invaded the thyroid tissue and causing alot of thyroid symptoms for me even though my labs are "normal". Have you watched the documentary movie "Under Our Skin"? it is available on the computer via hulu and also netflix I believe.
