Hello.  I have a couple of IND bands on my Western Blot test.  With the IND bands my test would be positive.  Does everyone consider the IND bands as positives or should I get another test?  Any advice?  I did have the 18 and 83-93 bands show up as positive also.  Thank you....

Not everyone considers IND bands positive. Pretty much only LLMD's would see that as a positive. Regular doctors and anyone going by IDSA guidelines usually do not go by specific bands, only CDC criteria. Therefore they would interpret it as negative. What lab did you use?

Well band 18, 83 and 93 are Lyme specific.

Dr. Charles Ray Jones writes:
"There are nine known [Lyme] Borrelia burgdorferi species specific Western Blot antibodies (bands): 18, 23, 31, 34, 37, 39, 83 and 93."

What did Igenex interpret your results as?

I had one IgM and IgG positive and 6 IND bands and LLMD said he considered me positive...

My initial test showed only 1 lyme specific band and two other bands positive and thus a negative result. But boy oh boy did I have lyme. These tests are just so unreliable it is infuriating. So yes even without the INDs, you are positive for lyme.
