Written complaint to NHS

Hi folks,

It's been a couple of weeks since I saw 'the consultant from hell' (NHS ID doctor), who amongst other things implied not only me but also my husband, GP and previous consultant were crazy, made it clear she thinks I have never even been ill, left me sitting in my underwear to answer a call about a dead patient and was generally obnoxious, rude and uncaring.

I am putting a formal written complaint in about the woman, and was just wondering how many people have done this before and if I am likely to even get a response???

P.S. Two 1/2 weeks off antibiotics and feeling great still. Fingers, toes and eyes crossed ;o)

No experience with this one but suggest you get in touch with the LDA who would probably have some suggestions.

I went to see a new GP at the family practice I usually go to a few months back - I was already being treated for lyme and all of that, but I got this raging sinus infection and asked to see the first doctor available, thinking it would just be routine and I was desperate. He jumped down my throat when I told him I have lyme disease, and tried multiple times in that visit to convince me that my raging sinus infection (that I still have to this day!) and my "thinking" that I have lyme disease and have been sick for 15 years is really depression and I need lexapro. Multiple times, even after I said a very firm and clear NO.

I spent a good hour or so writing him a letter that I never ended up sending, though just the other day I was considering it again. Writing it was really helpful for me personally, and I figured sending it - if he actually got it, might just have a small impact on the course of his practice. At the end of the day doctors are just any other person performing any other profession, and it's just as easy for them as anyone else not to even notice flaws in the way they do their job. But to be informed of it after the fact might just get through, you know? Personally, I'd say it's worth doing.
