Yes, the LLMD has now prescribed Clindamycin which I picked up today. I am waiting for the Therbiotic to arrive. This is my second day of mucousy diarrhea (possibly from the yeast infection) so I am holding off taking the abx until the probiotic arrives. I really need to get the show on the road, for heaven sakes.
I understand your concerns about me refusing the Bactrim but I have to listen to my gut at this time. I may have to eventually take it but not right now. I did talk with my pharmacist and he said if it were him he would take the clindamycin for now knowing my sensitivities to meds. He also stated that next to penicillin that Bactrim was the second most cause of allergy reactions. Yes, achievingrace, I did tell the doctor of my sensitivities to meds. I don't think he was a happy camper when I asked him to change the meds....yikes!!! You have to also understand that I have to be my own advocate, too. I know my body and many of us have gotten in trouble listening to some well-meaning advice from doctors. I have never taken a sulfa drug. When and if I do take Bactrim I will ease into it and thanks, springsjean.
The doc is treating the Babesia first and I am wondering if anyone else has taken Clindamycin for this?
I am concerned about the yeast infection but the doctor is not treating this at the moment so I have started a Candida diet but now I am wondering after reading a posted article by Traveler if this is a good idea since proteins and veggies cause an increase in ammonia. Any thoughts on this?
Emylgal, I am so sorry you have to see you daughter go through this process. Is it a good idea to take other probiotics along with the Therbiotic?
