I see my new specialist in 24 days, can't wait... my question is about body temps. I read something recently that body temp. can be important when diagnosing diseases. I started to take mine and make a note of it. I have been doing it for 3 weeks now. Each morning my temp is 97.3 and goes up to 98.3 later in the day but I keep getting temps of 100 when I feel really lousy. It comes up as a fever on the temp. monitor. So I seem to be constantly having fevers. Sometimes one a day.

Has anyone else had weird temp readings? could this have anything to do with lyme disease. I am going to take these readings with me when I see the specialist.

People have mentioned ringing in their ears. I have it every waking moment and constant headaches. My right hand side of my body was hurting more than usual this week, like under my ribs but at the side and back. I keep having dreams that I am given a pill and it fixed everything up lol if only.

Yes, fevers are common with Lyme, so is a lowered body temp.

You should also ask your doc about thyroid and adrenal issues, as those will cause body temp fluctuations as well. Lots of us with Lyme also have thyroid and adrenal issues as well.

In the "New to Lyme?" thread is a really great 'master symptom list' for Lyme disease that can show you most of the symptoms of Lyme Disease. While you are there, you should also check out the symptom lists for the other tick-borne infections as well, since Lyme rarely travels by itself.

Hi again Traveler,

about 6 months ago I was sent to an endocrinologist because my thryroid levels were off. The specialist first said she thought I might have hypothyroidism and adrenal issues, she ran lots of tests and said they came back normal the 2nd time. I was also told I had type two diabetes all of a sudden. The third time she saw me she refused to help me and said I was probably depressed causing all my issues.

I will print off that list and take all my documentation to this new specialist and keep my fingers crossed.

I tracked my temperature twice a day for two months. It averaged 98.1 in the am and 101.1 in the pm (and spiked with the least bit of activity). Unknowing doctors called it "fevers of an unknown origin." Then I met my LLMD (thank goodness).

He explained that subnormal temperatures in am and then rising to 99+ in the pm (with no obvious sweats) is a classic Lyme symptom. But morning fevers with light sweats are Bartobella traits. There is an excellent description of it in "Living with Lyme" 16th edition on page 26.

The best thing you can do is track it twice a day. Write it down (like in an Excel spreadsheet), and bring it to your appointment. :)

I'm so sorry to hear of all of this, Onepixel!! I do hope that you can get in to see a decent doc soon! I hope that the specialist that you are going to see isn't a Infectious Disease doc either! Chances are very slim that you would get decent treatment from an ID doc - there are good ones out there, but they are few and far between!

Don't stop searching until you find a doc that truly understands these infections, or you go to an 'Alternative' or Holistic doctor!
