Hi everyone
Normally I just post only on the Lyme forum, but today I really wanted to know if an endoscopy shows stomach acid/Lyme ssues?
I have had chronic bloating, gas and migraine/eczema ever since I came off a detox last year that went chronically wrong. I never had these skin issues before I came off it. I also sometimes have complete 'inability' to want to go yo the toilet, not even to push! I have heard of Bells Palsy of the gut (I had regular BellsPalsy at 21)
Unfortunately now everyone is in disagreement as to whether I have high or low stomach acid....and I had an endoscopy that was completely normal with no h.pylori. A stool test showed had low short chain fatty acids and butyrate levels.
One doctor things I should have sulcrafate and omaprozole, the other thinks I should take betaine hcl!
All I know is that everytime I take a medication I get a facial rash and eczema and redness in my chest. ANY MEDICATION!
Also just started on low dose hydrocortisone and I have a sketchy Lyme diagnosis so notsure if that affects my gut this way?
?an anyone help?
Doc says that if I have too much stomach acid it would show up on the endoscopy..
Is that right?

Maybe you have candida and lyme. Look into the symptoms for candida.

I would suggest that if there's any possibility of you having Lyme, that you go back to your doctor and ask to be weaned back off the hydrocortisone right away. It's a steroid, and steroids lower your immune system so that it can't fight off infections - like Lyme disease. This will allow the Lyme bacteria to travel and infect much more of your body. There are many studies that have been done on this. So please, don't wait.

Another thing is that Lyme does create all kinds of intestinal issues, including IBS with severe constipation. That's what I deal with. I once went 22 days without passing a thing! Of course now docs tell me that it was dangerous, but back when it was happening, not one single doc that I talked to thought a thing about it!
