What amazing people here: such wonderful knowledge.  I am reading and learning lots, but really need more help  I'm reading I can ask our GP to get testing done with Igenex for a more conclusive Lyme test?  Is this true. Am I asking for the Western Blot? Our GP is very laid back and isn't super knowlegdable: we tell him what tests we want: and we can't change doctors here, they won't let us.  Besides that, I share my story.  My mother had a negative test for Lyme, but we, including nurses, Pt, ot that she likely has Lyme.  So where do we start to get these results.  I know Washington state has a clinic that can provide treatment.  We are also waiting for MRI to see if it is her spinal cord?  Interesting. 

If it is positive, will I need to seekout a LLMD specifically, or could our GP provide the prescriptions. If anyone can suggest an LLMD in the Lower mainland we can travel.  My mom is barely walking.  ANy suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

If you get in touch with Dr. M in Hope, he will talk to you about your symptoms and give you advice free of charge.  Dr. M. is a well known retired Lyme professional and advocates for Lyme patients.  He speaks to people all over Canada on the subject to increase awareness and assist those inflicted.   He is also working with ND's who can write scripts here in BC.  He has a Lyme center that you can find on line.  I won't mention the site, as it has his name in it, but the people of CanLyme will give you the info you need to reach him.  I'm sure it would be fine to mention it here as he is not treating, just consulting and he in no way hides what he is doing, in fact the opposite.   I just don't want to say anything that would against the rules of this forum. 

I don't know what I would have done without him.  He is highly educated on the subject and if your GP is willing, he will consult with them free of charge.  He can also lead you to a ND who can treat you if your GP is not willing.  I too am in the Lower Mainland.  Get in touch with him, he can help you on your journey to healing.
