Hello, my name is Taras and I am 22 years old from Toronto, Ontario. My journey started on labour day weekend 2011. I had just come home from a fishing trip in northern Ontario. I was getting ready to go out for a night of partying with my friends when I started to feel faint, ended up puking, staying home and going to bed early. Not much to raise concern. about a week later I started to feel a tingly numbness in my right toes and a slight loss of sensation in my fingertips. I thought it would pass but it didn't so after a couple days I went to my neighborhood walk in clinic. The doctor told me its probably an issue with my spine, and a possibility its a tumor or MS. He said nothing of lyme even though I mentioned that I had just come back from a trip up north. He sent me for a CT scan of my spine. After a few weeks of waiting to do my scan and then for results, I was informed that they showed that my spine was fine and there was nothing wrong. This scared me though by then my symptoms had diminished and I felt pretty much fine. Being as uninformed as I was and the fact that my symptoms didn't interfere with my life I went on without thinking twice. about mid February I started to have vision problems. Sort of a dimmed down, fogginess. After a week or so of that I decided that its time to figure out whats going on so I went to my family doctor. I told her about the slight numbness and loss of sensation and that my vision has been off. In her opinion it wasnt anything too serious but she sent me to a neurologist to get checked out. Two months I waited to see him (Canadian health care for ya). After examining me he felt that it's definitely something more serious and sent me for three MRI's. One one my brain, my neck and my spine. Took a month to do my scans and then another week to get results. He informed me that there were spots of inflammation in my brain and spine. He was pretty sure it was MS but sent me for blood work just to make sure. The blood work checked for lyme, lupus and a couple other things which all came back negative so his final diagnosis was MS. Shockingly, right after he told me is when I started to get worse and worse and worse. It was early June and as time went on I started to get an ache in my back, tightness in the right rib area. By Canada day weekend I had a very hard time walking. My right leg was stiff, heavy, weak, moving it to take a step was just plain difficult. My mother at this point had convinced me to go to a holistic clinic in Germany to where she and my stepfather had already gone. This clinic, and the doctor who runs it are considered by many to be the top diagnostic specialists in the world, and his approach has cured many from a variety of diseases. The technology they have is remarkable. After just two hours in the clinic, they said they found borrelia in my system, after two more days of testing he was 200% sure that I had lyme disease. Thank god I thought to myself. He strongly advised me not to take antibiotics due to the damage they do and said that since I have been infected for so long they do not guarantee a cure. His approach was to first start off with detox and rebuilding my immune system. I came home from the clinic july 20th, completely changed my diet and started his protocol of homeopathic meds. Since then I am in touch with him and he guides me step by step. Trying different meds that might help me. So far nothing has given me relief and I have gotten worse. Thought im positive that my diet and such has helped me. My right hand is very numb to the point that I can barely use it. The difficulty walking is now in both legs but my right leg is better than when it started. Its weird because after I wake up I can walk pretty good but after a couple hours it gets worse and after some time I get to a point where I need assistance to get around. Not very fun lol. But I am optimistic. I am going back to the clinic on Saturday and am staying for a month. I will be doing ozone therapy along with many other things and hope to feel much much better by the end of October.
