Can anyone help explaining my lab results?

I'm hoping someone can give me some insight on my lab results since there is so much information I am starting to become very discouraged and confused esp since this seems to be a disease with so many gray areas.

So under Lyme Ab, total/IgM Responses it says:

 Lyme IgG/IgM Ab <0.91

Lyme Disease Ab, Quant, IgM <0.91    Next to those two it says Negative <0.91

It then states both Babesia microti, PCR and Bartonella DNA PCR are both negative.

On to the Lyme, Western blot, Serum I have present abnormal IgG p45 and p41 as well as IgM p23.

Ehrlichia detection PCR and Ehrlichia chaffeensis PCR both came back negative.

Mycoplasma pneumoniae IgG came back very high at 778 but the IgM came back negative

My CD57 panel is the one that confuses me the most. It says my CD8-/CD57+ Lymphs was low at 1.7 but below that it says Abs.CD8-CD57+ Lymphs is fine at 66.

Any insight would be great! Thanks!

The first one appears to be an ELISA test. Those are inaccurate in detecting true cases of Lyme in at least 35% of people. The same goes for co-infection testing. The tests can only pick up 1-2 strains of babesia and bartonella and there are MANY strains that cause illnesses in humans yet are not able to be picked up on tests.

On the western blot you have a Lyme-specific band (23) which cannot react with other conditions. This means you were exposed to Lyme so there is a good chance if you have Lyme symptoms, they are being caused at least in part by a Lyme infection.

In general IgG and IgM are for different stages of infections. So for your virus, IgM would indicate an active infection while IgG would indicate an infection from the past or a chronic infection. In Lyme and associated diseases, the bacteria interfere with our immune systems in a way that makes it so that our body keeps seeing Lyme as a new infection. Sometimes our immune system becomes so depleted from infection that it can't even recognize or react to the Lyme bacteria anymore. That often results in negative western blot tests.

What lab did your CD57? I ask because the main labs to use for that are Labcorp and Igenex. Some of the other labs are not reporting the correct cell. You need a lab that reports the CD57 NK cell and not the CD57 T-cell.

Assuming the CD57 was done at Labcorp or Igenex and it is measuring the CD57 NK cells, a result of 66 is considered low and can be used in support of a Lyme diagnosis by a LLMD. Usually LLMD's consider anything under 100 to be chronic Lyme. A normal score is usually over 200.

Thanks for the reply. My labs were sent to labcorp and right before it says CD57 it says HNK1 . Here in a month I have another full set of the (same) tests done by lab corp again. My Dr. seemed so sure this was a simple case. She said she was confident this would get rid of it. Honestly I'm liking her anwsers better than yours :p but then again in the back of my head your anwsers are what I have been feeling for months now. I guess its a toss up between what I want to hear and the slight reassurance that what I was thinking may not be me just being pessimistic or dramatic.

Sio it seems even though my Dr. isnt a LLMD she does have a better understanding of lymes than most "regular" drs right?

Yes definitely it seems like she is treating it more aggressively than most regular doctors. She seems to be in between a regular doctor and a LLMD in terms of the protocols she's using. I hope after you finish your month of doxy you will feel better.

There are always herbal protocols that you could attempt if you cannot see a LLMD. They work just as well for a lot of people as antibiotics. Particularly banderol/samento, Cowden's protocol and Buhner's protocol.
