According to the American Kidney Fund:
"If you have late stage kidney disease or are on dialysis, you may need to limit how much you drink."
Otherwise:
"Drinking plenty of water may also help prevent kidney stones and urinary tract infections."
I bring this up because I have noticed that some of those leaving comments on this thread have obviously NOT read the books on the Vitamin C/Salt Protocol.
The reason one doesn't get too much or harmful amounts of salt or C on this regimen are:
1) The C and salt are taken with a glass of water EVERY TIME. The harm from too much salt, is when one does not stay sufficiently hydrated.
2) Both C and salt are water-soluble. What your body doesn't use, is flushed out in the urine. So the ONLY ones for whom it isn't safe to be on this protocol, are those with late stage kidney disease or are on dialysis.
3) And this is a biggie - one does NOT take table salt! White, refined table salt IS a silent killer. Himalayan Sea Salt is super.
As for the efficacy of the Vitamin C/salt protocol, I personally started on it about
six weeks ago. I was on it for about
three weeks. With-in a few days, I noticed improvements. My knees, which have always harbored the worst symptoms of Lyme, being swollen, stiff, painful etc., saw the greatest benefits. The swelling lessened immensely. As did the pain. My range of motion increased, the movements becoming fluid and effortless.
Unfortunately, I ran out of my supplies and had to wait (for the money) to order more.
They just arrived and I am back on the protocol, but starting over.
I will keep you updated with my progress.
