rns- Your point about
milk thistle is well taken, but i would disagree about
the liver not needing detoxing. Heather used glutathione supplements and milk thistle/ silymarin for several months prior to our discovery that she had an extreme infestation with parasites. The problem is that Heather did not have a healthy bile flow. Liver flukes are notorious for blocking bile flow. I agree wholeheartedly about
the usage of antioxidants, but antioxidants alone are a woefully inadequate remedy for parasites in the liver. I discovered that in Heather's case, and I have seen it with many others. Heather's liver enzymes were extremely elevated while she was on glutathione alone, but improved a lot after the parasites were dealt with.
Rns- I respect your right to express an opinion, but I strongly disagree with your statement that "Everything else promoted in the health industry is a waste of time and money." In fact, I disagree with the approach that any particular product or modality is a panacea for any specific dysfunction in the human body. Even a cursory perusal of the posts on this forum will establish that fact. Cholestyramine may be useful, but it certainly is not a panacea for the elimination of Lyme toxins according to the patient testimonies that I have seen.
I do agree with you, however, about
checking on things for interference on a case by case basis. In fact I believe that everything should be checked for compatibility. This testing is easy to do, but few do it. When this testing is done, we find that the one-remedy-for-all-things approach is invalid.
Having said all of this- it is only my opinion! Thank you for the imput. The people on this forum are free to use glutathione and milk thistle to treat their liver flukes and sludge if they are known to have them. It certainly won't hurt anything, other than being ineffective.
