Viral treatment as part of protocol?

My practicioner had the Esoterix blood panel run on me - to look at biofilm activity and some other things such as gentic factors, etc. Esoterix is owned by Labcorp, and it consists of some advanced lab testing.

Anyway, the results showed a high number indicating a high viral load. My dr. said that b/c of this she'd assume I am fatigued, which is not the case for me.

Regardless, she wants me to take a couple of herbal anti-virals and then re-test in 2 months.

I'm curious to know if anyone else out there has addressed viruses as part of the protocol? And if so, did you see results?

Absolutely. Have had been treated for several different viruses and yes, have seen results. From what I have learned, lyme disease, if chronic especially, almost always has many co-infections present that need treating. Viruses are quite common. As are yeasts, fungus, other bacteria, mycoplasma.

The way my current doc explains it (he has treated 1000s of lyme patients) is that most of us have been exposed to viruses and many other "pathogens" that can stay dormant in the body until the body gets into a dis-ease state and then these pathogens become active and a burden. Stress and toxins can do this, as can active lyme infection.

My PCP had me on Acyclovir (sp?) for ten weeks because my Epstein Barr count is high.  I am still waiting for my appointment with my LLMD....can't wait to hear what he has to say.

My first LLMD focused a lot on viral infections including HHV6. He put me on Elderberry and was getting ready to start me on Valtrex. I ended up switching LLMDs though and she wasn't overly concerned about viral infection and focuses more on the Lyme-she basically said that the body can fight off viral infection once the Lyme is properly treated and in remission. She said that she does use anti-virals for people w/ persistent viral infection, but didn't go into any further detail. I do wonder about viral infection though-I constantly have a sore throat which makes me think of active Epstein Barr.
