Little Red Dots - Lyme? Co-infection?

 

I have been getting lots of little red dots on my stomach and legs and a few on my arms.

Does anyone else get these? Do you know what it means?

Well that is good to know shabby chic. It almost looks like those "dots" that are blood vessels (that is genetic I think). This happened when I upped my dose of japanese knotweed to the max. That is when I got that itchy or slight burning feeling at random spots on my skin and noticed some of those red dots...only a few BUT a day after I did a detox bath the itchy feeling was gone and the red bumps. Shabby what are being treated for the Bart with?

There is also a type of skin condition that goes along with Babesia that looks like little red pin pricks almost, only slightly larger. It's called 'Petechial rash". /sites.google.com/site/drjoneskids/rash-photos/babesiosis-rashes

I got these and am trying to find out if I still have Babesia or if those just don't go away right away.

LOL! I've been at this since 2007 and I still have to guess at stuff!! Of course I'm not the sharpest pencil in the case, but still!!!

If you aren't having any other symptoms associated with Babesia, you are probably safe. Bartonella rashes are many and varied, like Lyme rashes also.

Yup, I have the tiny red dots on my back.  My grandaughter counts them to see if any of them are disappearing and they are not.   

Traveler, thanks for posting the pictures of the rashes/red areas.  Both my feet are bright red and have some burning.  I (and some doctors) believe it is small fiber neuropathy.

I've had little red dots on my upper and lower arms, as well as sometimes on my forehead by my hairline, for as long as I can remember. Thought it was acne or sensitive skin. Saw a lyme doc for the first time a couple weeks ago and he said it was a bartonella rash.

Thanks for that site. My spots look identical to Petechiae spots so I guess that means Babesiosis?

Thanks for that link, I have the white-ish streaks on my foot, same that was in one of the pictures. I had no idea it was from bartonella, I thought the marks were scars from scratching my feet~

I remember years ago I"d wake up in the middle of the night intensely scratching my feet because they itched like crazy!

Looking at pictures of these rashes can be very helpful!!

Do you mean that because you are treating Lyme, it's caused a rash that looks like a Babesia rash?

Let me start out by saying- This is only my opinion, and I'm not very nice to doc's when I know more than they do. I most often get up and leave in the middle of the appt. I mean, why stay if they don't know more than I do, or can't stand to have someone who wants to understand what the treatments entail and all of the details that might include. - But that's me.

Questions like that need to be answered. You need to know that your doc is using the most up to date information and his/her thinking on these things to know that you are getting the best possible treatment so that you can heal with the least amount of residual issues.

No need to ignore co-infections that could possibly stop you from healing from Lyme disease. No reason to not tell your patients about detoxing (for those docs who actually know about it), or can't/won't answer questions that they should be able to answer.

But, as I said, that's just me
