My new dr has me on al complex by Byron white, which I've read typically causes a die off. about 2 wks into it, i had not had a die off. But then I added in Andrographis, an anti-viral, and i've had significant die off. While my dr. wants me to take it for viruses (bloodwork shows a high viral load though i haven't tested for any specific viruses), I read that it also kills the spirochette cycle of lyme.

Has anyone else taken this one, and if so, what was your exerience? Based on the response, I think it's a good one for me!

I started taking Andrographis yesterday, 400mg 3x day for one week then building up to (4) 400mg 3x day. I am following the Buhner protocol, with some added things that I want to try as well. Since this is all new to me, I cannot comment on the die off but I'm also worried about it so I am detoxing with Paragone ...which was all I could find appropriate at the health food store last night...until I get what I want online. I found a site with some great looking stuff ..going to buy...have you seen this site:

I want to buy a lot from here....they have a detox formula, too, as you can see. Hope you feel better.

I started taking andrographis July 18 before I was really thinking about Lyme, more worried about EBV which I've had before.

After weeks of debilitating fatigue followed by an exacerbation of a sleep disorder I've had since 2012 (likely autoimmune, triggered by the EBV) I felt slightly normal for about 24 hours after taking the androg. I took more the following day, then crashed again that night. This time, my sleep was gone AND I had neuro. symptoms--this hasn't really happened in conjunction before, it used to be either/or.

My initial thinking was the androg. triggered an autoimmune flareup of some sort. But now that I've looked into Lyme I'm worried about that.

Actually, andrographis is known to break open any Lyme bacteria that is in what is usually known as the cyst form:

So what likely happened is that by taking the andrographis, you flooded your system with even more Lyme bacteria, which is why your symptoms ramped up so much.

Are you taking anything to actually kill the Lyme bacteria? Continued detoxing and staying on low doses of whatever you are using to kill the bacteria will eventually clear this back up and you can get back to where you were.

Getting tested tomorrow--should I take some more andrographis tonight to make sure the Lyme is active and detectable? No I'm not on anything to kill it..

It could get to be a bumpy ride! I surely can't tell you in good conscience to take more, but if you did take more andrographis, it could very well help you to get a positive test result.

Have you found a LLMD or chosen a type of protocol yet?

No, have only been getting the runaround from my GP and others inc. an internal med specialist. Seeing a ND tomorrow who treats and tests for Lyme with Igenex.

IV glutithione is supposed to be super good for detoxing!! Good thought!! You can take ALA (alpha lipoic acid) as Dr. Horowitz says that it converts to glutithione in the body because ALA is precursor to it.

You can also use activated charcoal to help mop up those toxins.

got Igenex test today, will take 2 weeks! Also got a glutathione IV, feeling slightly better but I think it's just an energy kick from the vitamins.

Yeah :) Though I wouldn't say the IV was worth the money at this point. It's going to be a long two weeks..

I'm so sorry!! I hope that you are still using other means of detoxing to try to help your body.
