I just randomly googled "my headaches are improved with antibiotics" and Lyme disease came up so that's why I'm here. I'm a 33 year old female. The only tick I can recall ever being bit by was when I was about
15 years old. I live in west Texas.
I grew up around dogs as my mom bred Yorkshire terriers my whole childhood and I can remember her pulling them off the dogs. I started having weird symptoms around the age of 18-19. I was told it was anxiety and panic attacks and it's true I do have anxiety and panic attacks.
One day when I was 19 the whole left side of my body went numb and I had tunnel vision in my left eye.. My grandmother thought stroke and rushes me to the ER, my vision and leg went back to normal and they could find nothing wrong after MRIs and other testing. That never happened again and I figured maybe I was having a really bad panic attack or maybe or was some weird migraine or allergic reaction.
At age 29 I got strep so bad I was hospitalized after losing 18 lbs (down to 92 lbs) and was having real trouble swallowing foods, low potassium. They did a multitude of tests and put on some weight and went home. They were concerned maybe it was thyroid but that was normal. They put a scope down my throat and I was having esophageal spasms and given reflux and antispasmodic.
At the age of 31 the headaches started(never had headaches before) I thought they were sinus. They are on my left side, left temple, left side of face, left ear hurts and spasms. I get dizziness and it feels like my ears are stopped up. Allergist thought sinus infection and I've been on a couple courses of bactrim which helps so much the headaches go away for a month then come back. I've tried doxy, it makes my headaches worse. Z-pack makes them go away too but two days later they are back.
I haven't tried triptan a yet, my dr thinks they are either tension or migraine. He also gave me amitriptyline, which I haven't tried it yet either. Ibuprofen helps but not for long. I'm also tired a lot and recently at age 33 tested positive for mono. My dr said my antibodies show I am at the healing phase of it and to be honest the headaches have gotten better than they were two months ago. However my hypochondria is now worried about that tick bite from age 15(it wasn't on me for very long, maybe five minutes and even then I can't rem if it actually attached or was jut crawling on me, but since we were always around dogs I worry maybe I had one and didn't know?) anyways any advice?
