Oh and this is definitely not the worse state to get care in for Lyme. I heard the same thing when I moved here which was only a year ago. And for the first time in over 16 years and countless doctors I finally am seeing improvement in my health. Enough that I was able to get out of a wheelchair and start gardening within only three months of my treatment.

Oh and I don't think Oregon is the worst state for lymes. Washington State is terrible and there are only about 4 in and around Seattle and they are all being sued! Our state does not recognize Lymes at all.........Just my thoughts tho!

The doctor my husband is seeing is in Vancouver, Wa. He is a Chiropractor. He uses the Erconia Cold Low Level Laser to kill the bacteria and reboot the immune system. His theory is that since the immune system does not recognize Lyme as a foreign invader, it does not attack it. Instead the immune system goes after different parts of the body, like in my husband's case, it crossed the brain blood barrier. He was diagnosed with ALS last summer. By rebooting the immune system, it will then see that Lyme should not be there and will start attacking it instead. After two treatments, my husband, Toby, could raise his arms and jog in place...two things he couldn't do before seeing him. At the 5th appt., the doctor told Toby that the laser did not detect any more Lyme. He will see him again in a couple of weeks to make sure it doesn't detect any more.. He only charged us $65.00 for the first appt. and didn't charge anymore after that. He only does so for adjustments. Toby started Doxy..another doctor's recommendation so that has given him some side effects. I will be posting my e-mail address soon if you want to know about him. His wife suffered the same thing as the young woman in the documentary "Under our Skin" and he treated her successfully. Being that ALS was my husband's diagnosis, we are happy if he gets through this without the unthinkable, and so far, so good. I would love to know any other doctors that anyone would recommend in the Portland area. It's good to know what resources are available in the area you live in.

LymeLights, I sent you an email too. I know it's been a while since you've been here, but I wanted to make sure you have the info. you need.

I'm new to this forum but have spent a lot of time on Peter Walker's Rife forum. I took my granddaughter to an LLMD in Seattle (Dr. Marty Ross) and he put her on 1-1/2 years of antibiotics, sometimes three different kinds at a time to zap the spirochete in all three forms (cyst, spirochete and cell-wall deficient), as well as hit the co-infections, but I also included rife treatment (a GB4000 frequency generator) the entire time, and continued with it after we were finished with the antibiotics. In 2009 my granddaughter was too sick with lyme to attend school and she missed an entire year, but now she is pretty much symptom free, a junior in college, and taking no meds at all. All that having been said, I just purchased probably the best home rife machine available, a PERL-M with a ProGen II frequency generator. It has a plasma tube, comes with "Banks" programmed for lyme, lyme and co-infections, and lyme maintenance, as well as banks for 36 other conditions ranging from fibromyalgia, multiple sclerosis, herpes, general parasite cleansing, detoxing and way more. I just got the machine a couple of days ago and it's very easy to use. I actually bought the machine to treat a friend with pancreatic cancer because it has been medically documented to have cured a patient in 6 weeks. MRI and PET scans were taken, as well as blood tests, and there was no trace of a pancreatic tumor that had been 12mm six weeks before. These machines are widely used for treating cancer (except in the US). I live in the Newberg area and I'm always happy to talk to anyone with lyme because it a hideous disease that can be treated. All that being said, if I were to start over again, I would NOT go the antibiotic route but would use a pulsating electromagnetic field (PEMF) machine (like the PERL-M) to knock out the pathogens while also stimulating the immune system and the body to heal itself. My GB4000 rife did a good job too, but the plasma tube is far more powerful and accurate and zeroes in on pathogens and kills them. The best part is that you are not in contact with the machine. It sends out frequencies for 30' so you can be doing your regular household routine, or sleeping, while it kills pathogens and stimulates organs and detoxes the body. With my GB4000 the person using it had to sit in a chair and hold cylinders. The PERL-M is quiet, pulses the plasma tube, and you don't know it's happening. For those who don't know about rife treatment for lyme and other chronic illnesses that mimic lyme, go online and look up PEMF and you'll be amazed what comes up.

andy, could you PM me and tell me which ones are being sued? I'm in WWa and finding it hard to sort the wheat from the chaff.
If providers are being sued and running scared, that might affect the treatment they offer.

Dr. Marty Ross in Seattle is the doctor I took my granddaughter to and he was very conscientious about the way he monitored her antibiotic treatment, which also included many supplements, high-dose probiotics daily to replenish the good stomach flora and rife treatment with a GB4000, which I carried out at home. Dr. Ross is very expensive now because he has to maintain high liability insurance because the FDA, AMA and giant pharmas want to shut him and all the others treating lyme down. Although antibiotic treatment under Dr. Ross was successful for my granddaughter, who is lyme symptom free, antibiotics are prohibitively expensive. Rife-type frequency generators do the same thing, and you can treat yourself at home for lyme and a plethora of other illnesses, pathogens and conditions. In addition to killing pathogens, PEMF therapy restores cells, regenerates nerves, and heals and restores bones, and one specific PEMF device was recently approved by the FDA for brain cancer.
