you are not being a wuss...no one wants to do something that they know is going to make them feel even more ill. i think detoxing is always a good idea.
my advice is to look at the big picture(getting well) and to plan for herxing...have all the foods and meds and other support you need to help you through. i would let my closest family and friends know i may be out of commision for awhile. plan for down time with books you love to read(if you are up for it) or movies...hulu or netflix on my ipad are the easiest. i would
schedule a massage and i joined a health club with steam/sauna
and try to make it daily or every other day.
i am new to this forum and have to say i am a bit surprised at all the emphasis on footbaths since it is such a small piece of the detox regimen. diet/juicing, exercise/sweating, colon cleanses, sauna/steam, massage, acupuncture, vitamins/digestive enzymes, etc, should all be considered to help you detox.
let's face it....it can be awful to detox but truly, after a few days, if many of the above steps are employed, you will feel better. i must say that i did use samento(cats claw) as well and found it very helpful. as i think i mentioned in another post, i cannot take credit for being so knowledgabe i learned all these methods at a 3 wk program at a unique holistic health care ctr in florida. i had been so ill between the yrs of chronic lyme, tons of abx, c.diff, then many months of vancomycin for that, then yrs of pain meds.... i had had enough and knew i needed a very different direction. getting off EVERYTHING and detoxing my body of yrs of all this stuff was the answer, at that time....it was not a permanent answer because i dont have the stamina, money or discipline to follow their regimen 100% but i do follow a good portion of it.
i wish you well...honestly, ifi $ is an issue, then drink tons of water, eat really well(tons of fiber to move toxins out) or do enemas, take hot baths, have a loved one massage you or do daily
rubbing or brushing of your body before the hot bath and get rest.
