I had a lot of heart problems too. At one point, doctors were considering replacing the valves in my heart due to the lyme. I had mitral and prolapse valve regurgitation, chest pain, palpitations, irregular heart beat, and a few other things going on that I can't recall off the top of my head. Once I had been on treatment for over 2 years (abx and herbal) the heart finally got better.
Then I started having a lot of symptoms again. Pain, tight chest, couldn't breathe (and other symptoms) and I found out it was costicondritis. That is an inflammation of the joints of the ribs connecting to the sternum. Boy... that was really painful. Doctors thought I was having a heart attack.
Another time syptoms started flaring, was good old anxiety. That too caused the palpitations, shortness of breathe, weakness...etc.. And the kicker, was that I wasn't even aware of the fact that I was anxious.
My point is that it could be a number of different things. And because lyme can do so many things, it is important to let your doctor know this stuff and for you to watch it. If you feel you are having palpitations, or an irregular heart beat, take your pulse. Write down the info, let your doctor know. You will be one step ahead of the game with that knowledge. Its great that you are getting tha monitor. I got one too.
As for abx, my heart condition didn't change which abx I was on. The key was keeping my heart rate below a certain level and not over exerting myself.
