Diflucan reaction??

I am still trying to figure out my symptoms and I remembered that I took 2 doses of Diflucan (200mg each) about a week ago. Maybe that is the cause of my herx reaction now because I know that the diflucan stays in your system for a bit. Thoughts and experiences. Feeling super crappy- fever, sweats esp in the morning with diarrhea and in the nighttime. Do you do the same thing for this herx as a lyme herx?

God, this really sucks. I am feeling super depressed and anxious too- normal??

My LLMD seems to think it might be withdrawal from oxycontin that I stopped about 10 days ago, but my pain specialist says the timing isn;t right plus I am still taking percocet! I think it is the diflucan- i took 2 doses of 200mg on Friday and Sat. so I think maybe it could be yeast die off but I don't know if that would effect me 1 wk later but I think it could. It feels like a herx of sorts- slight fever, hot/cold sweats, anxiety, depr, dizzy, fatigue (extreme). I am waiting for my LLMD to call me back.

BTW- I didn't feel well when I took the diflucan but prior to lyme, diflucan never bothered me that much.

When candida dies it emits ammonia, as does lyme disease. More than likely, you are reacting to that ammonia. Detoxing in this situation is key. Yeast is found in your GI tract, and that can be part of the reaon for the diarrhea. I used to have a lot of these problems too. What I did was double my probiotic dose and started on a powder called Glutagenics by metagenics. It doesn't have the best taste, but you don't have to take much and it really fixes the intestines. It made foods digest better, less stomach pain, diarrhea, etc. It really was a wonder for me.

So like I said, ammonia is released when yeast dies off. That ammonia is a huge part of the lyme herx. Nearly everything emits ammonia when it dies off. Take some epsom salt baths, but keep the water near you own body temp, anything higher and you will actually kill lyme, causing you to herx more. Diet is huge too. Stay away from sugar and dairy while you are beating the yeast, they could make it worse. Stick to organic fruits an vegetables. But remember fruit has a lot of sugar in it, so stay away from the sweeter ones and don't eat them on an empty stomach.

Are you doing anything now to detox? For the most part, the way you would detox for lyme is similar to the way you could continue to detox. And that sould help with some of the symptoms.
