It upsets me that I have never read an article In local papers or never heard a news broadcast o the dangers of tick diseases. This does not make sense especially when the disease can alter our lives so drastically. I have called the local paper and asked to be interviewed for an article. I will call again since I did not get a return phone call. This is a dangerous and life threatening problem. Since education is the answer people should be made aware of how destructive and evil Lyme disease is.

I know it's not the US, but over here there's plenty of warning signs on how to remove ticks, about being vigilent for ticks, etc. in the GP's cabinets.

But there's no recognition what so ever on Lyme Disease or other tick borne diseases. Drs don't even know what it is...

It drives me crazy...

I was thinking the same thing yesterday. I have to suscription to the people in spanish and english magazine. So I decided to email the editor of the spanish one and asked him to publish something about lyme disease for the hispanic community, and Im planning to write to the editor of th eenglish version one too, but I want to make sure that they haven't write something about it already that I missed. and EVERY person that i talk to, even the girl who's taking my water payment over the phone, I tell them what lyme is, 60% of the people I have spoke to, dont have a clue. my husband thinks Im crazy, but PEOPLE need to know, and our voices need to be heard. you dont need to go camping, or do something like that to get lyme, it can be in your backyard. Im ready to spread to word even more. I will try to get involved with the texas lyme associaton. this has to stop. what breaks my heart is the kids that have lyme, imagine us suffering like we do, it has to be worst for kids, or babies. let's keep talking about it. one day we'll see the difference

I agree Sapphire! What the heck is going on here. We r told to get mammograms once a year, wear our seat belts, don't text and drive, but hear nothing about the dangers of contracting Lyme disease. I am finding too how many ppl never even heard of Lyme disease. We need awareness now!!!

In fact, my daughter has do a research paper and present it to the class, so she hurried to her teacher to pick Lyme disease but found there was no need to hurry bc most students don't even know what Lyme Disease is. The problem with that is that some of them probably have it but don't realize it bc they have no symptoms yet.

It seems like this disease is spreading rapidly. It is scary to think that a mosquito bite can change ur world. Ppl need to know this. The first ones who need to know this are the doctors (non-LLMD) who diagnose and treat us at the beginning stages of this disease! They are basically the ones who fail us bc if the infection was caught early on we wouldn't have to worry about chronic lyme anymore!
