I'm glad to hear that foot baths work well. I already sweat most of the year--I operate a farm and spend most of my time working outside, so the recommendation for exercise is unnecessary. Hauling 50-pound feed bags and shoveling manure is not exactly gentle exercise. And I probably walk at least five miles just in the course of an ordinary day--my house is almost half a mile from the mailbox, if nothing else.
I looked up ionic foot baths, but there must be 20 different models and I have no idea what specific parameters I should be looking for. And I know someone who bought an FIR sauna to help with pain, and thought it was pretty much useless, so that didn't appeal to me. It may be that she just didn't get the right one, so if anyone can recommend a specific model, I'd be interested.
Cilantro is one of the herbs I already grow, so that sounds good. Probably not in a "smoothie," though. I know smoothies are trendy right now, but to be honest, I don't like them. It's not the taste, but the texture, just really turns me off. But I like cilantro as a seasoning and would be happy to eat more of it.
There's no one in this area who does colonics--I'm 70 miles from the nearest city, so that's out. No inherent objection to enemas, but without a tub or a regular shower, that's a bit hard to manage. I didn't explain that I'm off-grid and don't have running hot water. My "shower" is a 3-gallon agricultural sprayer that I fill with water heated on the stove. I only use it in the summer, when it's warm enough to use outside. In the winter, I take sponge baths in front of the stove.
So it looks like foot baths are the way to go. I'll check out the detoxing section again for details.
Thanks for the information, and if anyone can recommend an FIR sauna or an ionic foot bath, I'd like to hear from you.
