I think many of you know that I have a 17 year old daughter that was born with lyme. She was diagnosed at age 14, afer being misdiagnosed time after time. SHe has been treating for lyme for 3 years now, and has seemingly been getting better. However, recent bloodwork has me rather nervous. According to her blood work, she has high glucose levels, in the stage of prediabetes from what I have read. At this stage, she still has a chance of reversing it before it becomes diabetes 2.
So thats the goal. However, this usually happens due to diet. Thats the problem. We don't eat sugar, not even fruits high in sugar content. We limit gluten, even though we don't have any gluten intolerances. She weighs 103 at 5'5". She is fit, pretty active. We do yoga. We don't eat many processed foods. She takes vitamins, herbs, and b12, b6, biotin, and folate due to the MTHFR gene mutation, the 1298 and 677.
She has been off abx for nearl 2 weeks, being on pulse therapy, in hpes on the lyme being on it way out...
A few mnhs ago, she was having hypoglycemic symptoms and had to eat every 2-3 hrs or she would be dizzy and lightheaded. Now it has reversed?
Her vitamin/herb list:
Saventaro
garlic
eluthero
milk thistle
vitamin D (due to deficiency)
NAC
resveratrol
lysine
vit E
american ginsing
I will slowly add the following in hopes of helping the glucose levels
Alpha Lipoic acid (biotin, zinc and iron to counter the ALA)
tumeric
bitter melon
Does anyone have any ideas? I have a tough time finding any info with lyme and this. And I just can't watch my daughter go through yet another setback. It's just overwhelming.
