Took the new lyme test

Ponied up the $900 for the new Advance Labs lyme test, they said it would take up to 4 months but two weeks later...positive for borrelia growth.  I tested positive with igenx a couple years ago, LLMD treated with abx, herbs, and whatnot and was feeling pretty good.  Relapsed this spring, it sucks but at least I know for sure.  Guess a part of me always wondered if maybe it was something else, suppose there is some comfort in having an answer.  Worst part is knowing there is no cure, and no two Dr's seem to agree on how to treat.  Anyway, good luck to you all...

Sorry you had to pay $900 for that. I hope that you know that because of people like you that can afford these tests, you are doing a service to all of us. At some point these folks are going to have pretty extensive data that contradicts everything the CDC and IDSA are saying. I hope you get well soon.

That's exactly what I hope happens. Its a big ship to turn tho, at this point, so many are galvanized in their false paradigm. I hope this test holds up, we need a clinically accepted, accurate test soooo bad.

I thought they charged $595 for the Lyme culture.

Wow..I thought close to $500.00 was a lot for the Igenex testing. I am curious as to why you went that route. The Igenex testing is pretty accurate. Did they test for co-infections too? As my husband regains his health - staying positive here - I would like to one day present his medical diagnosis with the Lyme testing for statistical information and to help push this "hidden" disease out in the open for all to see.

They have a base or comp panel upgrade. My Dr chose the latter, I don't know the difference. They will now test for co-infections again, I had anaplasmosis last time around. I considered my Igenex test as helpful, but not necessarily accurate, since it can't actually detect the borrelia. I took the new test for piece of mind, wanted to know if my issues were actually lyme or something else. The hope was that all those antibiotics killed it off, but thats not how it turned out.

Thanks for sharing this. I am thinking about having this ordered for my 7 yr. old son who may be showing symptoms. I want to know definitely yes or no as the whether he has it. He's so young, I don't want to have him on medications unless we know for sure that he has it.
