Northern California Lyme Dr

My antibody tests (elisa and western blot - I think) came back positive, but now my neurologist wants to give me a spinal tap before prescribing antibiotics. It's something I'd rather not do. Does anyone know of a Dr in the SF Bay Area that would prescribe antibiotics following positive blood tests?

A friend of mine that has had lyme for a long time told me to not let the doctor do a spinal tap. In the past it has been used against patients.

 If it comes back negative insurance companies will not pay for medications, etc.

It is like other tests for lyme inaccurate, and of course some nasty side effects.

I believe that the LLADS conference is in San Fran at a conference center around Oct. 6. It will be chock full of LLMDs'

that should be better qualified than a neurologist.

I hope someone comes along to help more.
