anyone have high ck levels associated with lyme?

the last time my muscles felt like they were breaking down i had high ck level..(muscle enzymes)...and i was just wondering if anyone else has elevated ck's while u are symptomatic.....

Hmmm. I never head of that. I just looked up and it says it can be related to heart problems. Have you discussed with your doctor or are htey are only slightly elevated? I have had major muscle problems but never had that elevated.

well the stupid lyme caused my thyroid to stop working....along with lyme...thyroid attacks ur muscles so i have a double wammy...i still cant walk today without holding on to something...just feel like i overworked my arms and legs...no energy...and i have fell a couple of times up against a wall..and kitchen counter.....but my treatment is coming...if i can jus hold on.....its funny...im sooooo excited about my treatment....but experiencing scary new symptoms everyday.......but humor gets me through.....i will make jokes to ease what may be going through my husband and sons head when they see me wobbly and goofy.....and because of my extreme buttock muscle pain i have come up with a slew of jokes for that...and i tell my hubby ..this isnt lyme being a pain...this is u...we just laugh....i have to make a decision this week...about quitting school...thats the last thing i want to do.....but my arms n hands r so weak i dont think i can do it for a while...thats disappointing...and yes i have cried in my private time....but i have to believe it isnt over...and that success isnt in what u can do physically...but success dwells in ur mind and my heart and as long as im ok there ...i can conquer bacteria....lol

Hi there,

I also have lyme, bart, erhlicia... just diagnosed. I am experiencing some wasting/muscle atrophy on my forearms and hands with muscle weakness and pains. I just found out I have elevated CK as well, but not too high - 190. Did you ever receive an answer to this?

What Dr. did you end up seeing?

Hi there sare I hope all is well. The post you're responding too is over 2 years old :-( but welcome to the forum! Have you read the New to Lyme post? If not you should as it is very helpful.

To answer your question my CK enzymes were off the charts a year ago. In the 500's. Once I started supplements it went back down to normal range.

Let us know if you have any questions. This is a great forum and a lot of people on here are super helpful and there folks who are symptom free that chime on too!!!
