Who has had PICC lines?

Hi everyone I am back again with more questions. I had another Dr. appt with a Dr. in my area who is is lyme literate, but lyme isn't her sole specialty. She and my LLMD have agreed that everyone is on board for her to care for me under the consult of my LLMD (I would still see LLMD for big appts). Has anyone ever done this? She is very into herbals and told me she really likes the cocktail my LLMD started me with and has confidence in them (ok yay cool). Anyway she helped me look over ALL my labs and explained them...I also came out of my A-Myco and A-Bart challenges positive. My myco on the labs was >5.0...guess that's a pretty high score, eh? The herbs for those two made me sick.

Samento feels like it is killing me.

I am still fighting my sodium between low 120s and low 130s every week.


Anyway, when i first saw my LLMD I was only in my appt with her for around half hour and she stated she thinks I need a PICC. I kinda let it go over my head because I was thinking don't we need to see how this goes? Then I am in this second Dr. last week who did in the beginning have a more conservative approach toward Lyme, but she read my IGeneX results, all labs and did her exam on me. She said it was affecting my CNS so badly that she believes I need a PICC as soon as we can and that will be my chance to really knock it down to start things off. My eyes are in a constant state of twitching...I shake so badly it is constant and awful, not just my hands, but my voice, my legs, my eyeballs, my jaw, legs, head etc etc....I would feel safer if I were to have a PICC to get it done up here and have the possibility of help if I need it there is a palce that cares for that here. If I got it 5 hours away, any probs I would have to rely on our ER which is completely sub par...they are awful. So this could be a plus.

I guess my main question is are these people rushing into this PICC thing too fast without trying more stuff first? It has been almost 8 weeks of ABX and I'm still having all the awfulness that I started with minus noise sensitivity and brain explosions.

I guess i am really just trying to find out if I am in the right hands. SHould I be trying to bring another person into the picture like this? I feel so awful...I know we all do, I am just trying everything in my power to beat this. The best routes to go.

The one Dr. close to me also loaded me up on a bunch more immune building stuff that seems pretty cool too.

Any thoughts...I know this might be a bit scattered I feel like I am having a really hrd time communicating anything to anyone and I feel like I am drowning.

I sooo wish we could just tell you what would be best for you to do, but nothing is clear cut for these infections other than the need for treatment.

I would like to be sure that you understand that the PICC line may or may not work for you. It is usually used for more severe cases, but that doesn't mean that it will work. Considering you have already had almost 8 weeks of abx and have had very little progress could mean that you need to at least add in herbs, if not go to all herbs. No one can tell you what you will need to heal though - you will have to discover this as you go along.

What I don't understand is if this 2nd doc is big into herbals, why is she saying that you not only need abx, but a PICC line? There are plenty of herbals that could help in different ways, depending on exactly what conditions these infections have created in your body.

For your low sodium, have you had a 24 hour saliva test done for your adrenal gland function? This is the only test that will let you know how well your adrenals may or may not be working through out the day. If they are not working well, this could cause hyponatremia - low blood sodium.

Well, I can tell you that I had some quite severe CNS symptoms and never even did abx, herbals only and I have healed, so anyone that tells you that a PICC is the "only" way to heal that isn't exactly telling the truth - but it may be because they don't know any better.

If your adrenals are failing, or just not producing like they should, you can completely heal them with natural means - DO NOT allow anyone to start you on steroids!!! Steroids will only suppress your immune system even further and allow the infections you have to get even worse.

My adrenals are healing well on just natural products. I have had to change to different ones from time to time as my needs changed, but it's more than possible to heal the adrenals!


Be sure that you are doing all that your body will allow you to do for detoxing - remember it's the toxins from the bacteria that are driving your symptoms - reduce the toxins and you will reduce the symptoms.
