For instance, I used Traditional Chinese Medicine and Acupuncture as a very large part of my treatment - and I'm still using a couple of the TCM herbal remedies. Here is what he thinks of this form of medicine:

You are not alone - this IS scary!! As a matter of fact, fear like that is the main reason why I chose to continue to be a Moderator. I too was terribly afraid as I learned more about what I had. My one and only LLMD said to assume that I had every tick-borne disease due to my history of exposure, number of symptoms and severity of symptoms - scared the beejeebers (& other things) right out of me!! I pretty much ran out of the office and I broke down crying in my car.

Then when I couldn't tolerate the abx - I was scared all over again and to new heights! I was also convinced that I would die soon - very soon - after that happened. I even had my kids come up and I had "the talk" with them about what to do & not do with my body, and any of my things, made them promise to watch out for their Dad - the whole thing! I even still have my will. It's my reminder for ever more of how scared I got.

You are not alone. We DO understand you and what you are going through! It's very real and very scary. But you are not alone. We care what happens to you and that means something!!

I am so glad I posted. i thougth that doctor sounded like a quack himself. I have had acupuncture in my ears and it is wonderful. he is totally against all alternative treatment. all i know is since I have started my antibiotic for lyme, and my vitamins I have gotten so much better in the last 3 months. but the depression is killing me.

I have been in a marriage i have wanted to get out of for 3 yrs, but due to illness and fear of not being able to care for myself, I have stayed, and put it off. I am noticing as I improve, the need to try to get on with my life is just eating at me. also, the fear of not being able to afford the treatment I need to totally get well. my husband has money, and will pay for my treatment, but he is also making me miserable and I feel I cannot heal emotionally with him. so what to you do? how do people get treatment when the medication stops getting covered by insurance and you can't afford vitamins and minerals? I am on disability and have a fixed income. I feel I could meet my basic needs, but getting over this lyme is scaring me to death.

Nobody can ever understand how you feel and what you are going through except a fellow lyme disease sufferer. We all totally understand. It is very challenging to get people who don't have Lyme and are not sick to know how terrible you feel right now. Don't expect them to ever understand the enormity (is that even a word? LOL) of this disease because they won't and it really isn't their fault because the public isn't well educated on this disease. The CDC should be educating the public. At this point in time the cdc is not doing it's job to protect the public and educated them on chronic lyme. ... Anways, WE GET IT. come talk to us anytime...... We all have probably contemplated suicide in certain moments of fear and frustration and illness, but please don't even think about that again... you can get well and you can get treatment. Let us help you find the help you need. Just post what state you live in and somebody can direct you to a good LLMD or LLND.

You'll make it, Jackie- after exchanging emails with you, I can see that you are a strong woman! The isolation of this disease can be very hard on us!! Just when we need people to understand the most, they can't.

As so many have said though - we do understand and are truly here for you!! And anyone else having a hard time!!

Hi Mystery1, please please know that you are NOT alone, and that you can, and will, get better !!!

Don't stress yourself about the EBV or the HH6 - those are viruses EVERYONE has contracted before the age of 10 ... 99-100% of the world's population will test positive for them, so don't feel overwhelmed ...

As far as Stephen Barrett and his idiotic platform:

Did you know that the first line of treatment for malaria as advised by the World Health Organization is the herb artemisinin ?? ....

Also - in 2001, my sister was diagnosed with Hepatitis C .. Her "conventional" doctor told her that she has "5-10 good years left" in her life ...

Of course, this was traumatic for her ... She sought out a holistic doctor, and over the next 18 months received over 80 hydrogen peroxide IVs along with lots of vitamins ...

I can proudly say that right now, my beautiful sister and inspiration for me, has a viral load within normal range and has no symptoms ...
