Stopping antibiotics and switching to natural treatment ...confused

I did, cold turkey. It was a bit rough - my adrenals crashed and I thought that the origin must have been "Oh the bacteria" Still my body had an 'adjustment period.' Every now and then I doubted my course of action but now its been....5 months off of antibiotics and I'm doing just fine.

JJ, I have been on antibiotics for 7 months now and last month I decided to stop taking them. I stopped cold turkey as well. The reason that I decided to stop was that my stomach was doing very bad on them. as soon as I stopped taking them, I began to feel better. I had side effects from the antibiotics that I was blaming on the infection. 5 or so days after after not being on antibiotics, I began to get some of the symptoms back that I had months ago. within a few days many of my symptoms returned, some which I had forgotten about.

I am back on antibiotics but different from what I was taking. My symptoms have started to subside again but I have started to get some of the ailments that I now blame on the antibiotics such as the headaches, stomach pains, chest pains, anxiety and depression.

I plan to stop taking antibiotics soon but this time I plan to be on some type of herbal treatment before I stop the antibiotics. There are natural antibiotics that I am going to introduce into my protocol so hopefully when I stop the antibiotics they will keep the symptoms from coming back.

I do have to say that am have not taking any cyst busters so it is possible that when I stopped the antibiotics that the cysts turned into spirochetes again.

I hope this doesn't discourage you from going off of them.

Opugirl, I believe (from some of your previous posts) that you were on a combination of antibiotics and natural herbs, correct?

I was just on antibiotics when I quit so that may make a world of difference.

I too stopped abx abruptly, although it saved my life. I didn't switch to herbals right away because there wasn't a doctor nearby that would even agree to let me in their offices. Once I found a doc in another area that agreed to treat me though, I began to feel immensely better within one month and knew that I was going to get much better by the end of the 2nd month.

How did your appt go?
