Quick sharp pain in head

I get these sharp, very painful and doesn't last, pains in my head in one spot, then it goes away and then a little later it comes back. It will do it a few times and then quit for hours and then start again.

Sometimes it will happen right up from my ear and then the spot is sore.

Scares me that I have a weak vein or artery.

Anybody else have this and is it the Lyme?

I get something like that from tight muscles on my scalp sometimes, a quick jab of pain.

Yes, I have the exact same thing as you describe. I can go for months without it happening and what seems to be "out of the blue" - there it is. I assume it has to be lyme related and I'm about to the point that I don't what is NOT lyme related!

I recently had quite a bout of this and it lasted only 1 day and it was only in my right ear and right side of my head. It felt like someone was sticking me with a sharp pin - it might last 1 second or as long as 5 or so seconds. It was so pronounced and strong it made it grab my ear/head out of pure instinct. It scared me due to the sharp degree of pain -but it went completely away by the time I went to bed, but it probably happened at least 20 times during that day. I'm grateful it's gone and have no clue what sparked it to come or what caused it to leave. Hang in there!

Glad to hear others also experience it also, not that I wish it on you but I am 52 so could be something else and I don't even want to speak the word.

Wonder if its in my brain causing it or what, it's really disgusting to think about it swimming around in our bodies.

I am going to speak complete healing for all of us.

You don't feel pain in your brain, so it shouldn't be there. Those critters just like to keep us on our toes.

I get them too. I think they are more or less over active nerves ...as long you're not symptomatic, such as dizzy, lightheaded, I wouldn't worry too much about them, but do tell doctor

Revive LOL Sorry I am laughing but I had the exact same thing when I started my herbal protocol last month. A quick zap and then gone….and I thought the exact same thing. Oh no I think I have an aneurism When I told my herbalist about it she said it was very common. I had it on an off for 2 or 3 weeks. Its gone now. I have increased my tinctures Those little devils living in us have a lot of tricks up their sleeve when they figure out they are being targeted by herbs or meds…….they really kick up a storm

Our daughter had this symptom.  It wasn't a headache, but a pain in her skull bone, always in one spot (for her it was just behind the right ear, but closer to the top of her head).  Quick and then gone.  I would assess this symptom level by number of times it occurred during the day, not by intensity, because it always seemed intense. 

Because this was one of her bone pains (shin, forearm as well) which flared during bartonella abx treatment herxes we have always assumed it to be caused by bartonella.  We even call this her "bartonella spot".

This pain has resolved with treatment.

I looked it up on the Internet, so it's common with Lyme.

What causes trigeminal neuralgia?

Most often, the cause of trigeminal neuralgia is idiopathic, meaning the cause is not known. There are some instances when the nerve can be compressed by nearby blood vessels, aneurysms, or tumors.

There are inflammatory causes of trigeminal neuralgia because of systemic diseases including multiple sclerosis, sarcoidosis, and Lyme disease. There also is an association with collagen vascular diseases including scleroderma and systemic lupus erythematosus.

rowingmom Thats exactly where mine is, or was, except behind my left ear at the top of my head.
