For a while I was a proponent of mixing herbal tinctures all into one dose. It seemed to work fine for me, and Stephen Buhner -- someone who has vastly superior knowledge of herbs and chemistry than I ever will -- says it's okay.
However... after some experimentation, I have come to the conclusion that my herbs work better when I take them separately, only one at a time. It seems like, with the tinctures, I only need to separate dosages by 5-10 minutes, but it does in fact seem to make a difference in effectiveness.
Does anyone have any ideas on why this might (or might not) be true?
I'm just going off experience and a gut feeling, this is far from scientific. If I spend half an hour spacing the tinctures (so, let's say 4 tinctures spread out across half an hour), my symptoms seem to improve more noticeably and consistently than when I mix everything and take it all in one dose.
