I had my one month follow up with my llmd yesterday and it went well.
She put me on a new drug called minocycline to replace the doxy. She thinks the high dose of doxy might have been giving me migranes. I'm also on flagyl two days a week and she added ceftin daily.
So, after one month of treatment, I already feel SO much better. Looking at my symptom list from my first appointment I can say that most of the worst symptoms are slowly fading.
I stopped taking 500mg naproxen on Monday(which was the only thing keeping my knee pain/lack of function at bay) and the pain has not returned. I can walk and stand on my own :) (fingers crossed)
All mental symptoms are gone.
No panic attacks/anxiety
No crying/depression
My joint pain is 90% better and my arm/elbow/shoulder stopped dying on me daily.
The parasthesia/extreme burning/cold/pins and needles/ fire ants in my legs and thighs is 85% better.
I'm starting to be able to walk and stand for extended periods after being in a wheelchair for weeks.
I went from not being able to stand up long enough to take a shower to walking two miles this weekend!!!
Also, on Friday I went grocery shopping for the first time in six months!
The symptoms I do have currently are fatigue, random mild muscle twitches all over, bad migranes every few days, mild tendon burning, sensitivity to cold in my knees.
Anyway, I owe my current success to this forum and everyone who has helped me on here. Thanks so much!!! I will continue to post my progress and hopefully will keep getting better :)
