Long Time Lurker, First Time Poster

Hi Everyone--

I have been a long time lurker on this site, and honestly I want to thank you all because reading this forum has helped me keep (some sense of) my sanity. I am not sure how long I have had lyme but I would guess at least 9 years.

I had an ah-ha moment when I realized I experienced a sudden onset of floaters and panic attacks soon after I had a flu-like illness… in the summer... on Cape Cod… back in 2004. Either I wasn't tested or the test didn't pick up the lyme.

Over the years I have had a myriad of symptoms and basically was told that I had anxiety or depression. I saw one nutritionist who eliminated gluten, which helped a lot. Towards the end of last year, I had some new symptoms; migrating pains and vascular stuff.

I tested positive through Igenex (IGM 23-25 IND, 31 +, 39+, 41++, 83-93+; IGG 31 IND, 39+, 41+++, 58+) and started doxy and arteminisin. I was so happy to be diagnosed, but it has been a rough road. It seems to be getting worse for me. I could go on and on but I will try to condense :)

My question now is: Shortly before my lyme diagnosis (January of this year) I was hospitalized for an ovarian cyst. I had a CT scan with dye and barium. The next day my lymph nodes got really swollen and one under my jaw has stayed that way.

Since being on the abx my symptoms have changed, some have disappeared and I have new ones. My biggest symptoms right now have been pain in my left shoulder blade, swollen lymph nodes in my neck, throat discomfort, chest pain/discomfort, eye floaters, eye pain, and nuero stuff (brain fog, word recall, etc). I have been detoxing with lemon water, epsom baths, etc.

My doctor wants me to keep going on this regimen and come back at the end of the month. I am just extremely nervous that the nodes, chest, throat, shoulder stuff could be indicative of something other than lyme like cancer. I know lyme can do really messed up stuff to your body, but I am just paralyzed with fear.

Has anyone else had symptoms like this related to their lyme? I am thinking sarcoidosis or candida might also be culprits. Just feeling really overwhelmed… Thank you for reading :)

Hi and welcome. Swollen lymph nodes, throat pain, chest pain, eye pain all scream Bartonella. What abx are you taking?

@ToddPaul Started out on 200 mg doxy 2x daily and arteminisin. In my first two months of treatment now.

@dvlsfan30 I will. It is crazy to me that she hasn't been tested yet. It would be amazing if she could have some improvement in her life as well. She has been wheelchair bound for 20 years. But we lived on Cape Cod, which has a huge lyme issue. It could be!
