This is only day 2 on the megadoses of ABX but already I am feeling
so much better. My brain even feels clearer! I am amazed-hope it
continues. Maybe I am so desperate for any good feeling I could celebrate!

Glad to hear your are improving. It is a long road and bumpy but with a good doctor and medication big improvements are on the way. Hope you are healed soon.

Barn Gurl- read some of your older posts and noticed that you
said how sick you were before you started tx. I also was having
many Neuro sx and it was getting scary. Have you noticed a big
improvemt. and what are all the things that were going wrong? Also
how long will you be on your ABX?

Hi Sueg, everything was going wrong...haha. Seriously I had vision problems, chronic pain in my shoulder and numbness down my arm and hand on the left side. I had extreme dizziness that prevented me from leaving the home. I had the costrochondritis which is chest wall pain, extreme at times. It feels like a heart attack. I had some heart palps. Before I started tx I had memory loss confusion and cognitive problems. I feel many of these would come back if I discontinue medication.

Im doing well on antibiotics 8 months later. Still have some mild symptoms but work full time and enjoying my family etc. I dont know how long I will be on abx. I have a friend who needed them a couple of years but did recover fully.

Hi BarnGurl,

Can you tell me what helped the most to get rid of your dizziness? Which antibiotic or treatment. That is my worst symptom and nothing I have tried has helped.

Hi lymebites, I did and still do take Omnicef (Cefnidir generic). It cuts right through dizziness and the nuero symptoms. I also took ammox which helped alot too. I noticed immediate improvement with both of these. The Omnicef caused a reaction of swollen and painful joints. The ammox did ease these immune responses. Good luck to you.

BarnGurl,

Just wanted to ask you about your dizziness. Was is worse when you turned your head? Mine is SO bad, especially when I turn my head or scroll on phone or computer.

Hi lymebites mine seemed to be worse whenever Id go out in public. Like Id start to feel real weird in the grocery store, drug store and especially department stores. Went to church on Christmas Eve and came home and was very very dizzy.

When I went out Id get this far off feeling and sooner or later be so dizzy or weirded out Id have to leave, Another really bad issue I had and still have is stiff neck. I have not been able to shake it. I can tolerate it but I am not ever able to have the flexibility I once had. I dont know if the dizziness is worse when I turn my head, but the stiff neck still persists. The recovery is slow but if you find a good LLMD he is worth his weight in gold.

Thanks so much BarnGurl!! Mine is really bad when I turn my head back and forth. I have also been exposed to high levels of toxic mold so that could be playing a role in this as well. So hard to know what's from what.

I also have it when I'm out in big places too. Like my kids soccer and baseball games. It's scary and makes me feel like I'm going to have a seizure or something. I always need to leave and come home and lay down until it subsides. I haven't driven in 5 months because of it.

I have a really good LLND and a LLMD but both have not been able to figure out what is causing the extreme dizziness and help me with it.

Maybe it's time to look for a new one.

I think you need to try different meds. See if the llmd will discuss changing to either we discussed. It helped m dizziness a lot. Good luck.
