Please help! desperately need LLMD in Asheville, NC

I have moved from the Kansas City area to Asheville, NC. I have found a family Dr who has been searching for an ID Dr to help me. You know how THAT will go!  I have been on abx for about 3 yrs and am not better, my KC Dr believing due to mycotoxin poisoning.  I had moderate scoliosis growing up and my spine has now collapsed, I believe due to Lyme. I am late stage (since 2007), have sores all over my body, and my mental pain is often unbearable due to neuro-Lyme. So I need psychiatric help as well, but need from someone knowledgeable of Lyme and co's.

 I desperately need some help and need a good Dr before heading out on my own natural, etc treatment.  I was treated for Babesia (microti and WA showed in labwork) but I do not believe it is eradicated.

Given the pain I am in due to my spine, I can't take this illness or whatever it is that is left of it any more.

I am now on DA due to my spine and infections.

There's one LLMD in Asheville that I know of, but he doesn't have a good reputation. There's also a PA; I can email you her name. She used to work in Dr. J's office in DC, and she still flies up there once or twice a week to work with him, but her supervising doctor is Dr. F. in Chapel Hill.

There are tons of integrative and naturopathic modalities in Asheville, so you might want to see if any of those practices know about Lyme.

I go to Boone Complementary Medicine (it's all natural--a rife machine w. different frequencies, acupuncture and homeopathics), a practice which deals primarily with Lyme. Boone is a bit of a long haul from Asheville though. At first I herxed like crazy, but the acupuncture and homeopathics are starting to help. I can ask her about Asheville.

So, avoid Dr. B.; try the Lyme-Literate PA for starters (?); her first name starts with an A.

I am sorry that I do not have a doctor name in your area for you! I have been reading all of your posts though and I have to say I think that you are right, and that a lot of your problem is due to toxic mold. I am 23 and first got sick overnight in a VERY moldy building. Even when I left the building my symptoms got worse . When I eventually figured out it was Lyme and started antibiotics the physical symptoms went away, and a few of the brain ones, however, a lot of the brain ones remain. I have just recently seen yet another doctor without telling him anything, just my symptoms, he said I had toxic mold problems and then did a kinseology test to check. I do not know yet what the protocol will be, but I promise to let you know. However, I am very curious to hear what the protocol for toxic mold was from the infectious disease doctor you were once seeing. Can you please let me know about this? It may really help me...thank you so very much. I hope you start seeing some relief soon, and I hope the same for myself!!

Hi +Lyme,

I was wondering about you and remember you were thinking of moving.  I hope you are happy about the move and I'm glad you don't work in that stressful place anymore.

Anyway, have you been detoxing?  Remember I told you about my friend who has a really bad back?  Even though she does not have lyme she takes the detox baths and it makes her back feel better. 

Most neuro symptoms (from my research and reading books) is caused by too much ammonia in the brain and if you start binding up that ammonia so you can purge it out of your body and brain, I think you would feel so much better as well as detoxing like crazy.   I know there are some products out there that bind up ammonia but the only one I am familiar with is Dr. J's Neuro-Antitox CNS/PNS Formula (I took that).    I don't know how much it is now but the last time I looked it was $48.00 plus shipping.

If you can handle the detox baths (don't know if you have a tub) then you get start getting rid of those poisons.

I have the same question. Any support groups or lyme specialists in the Asheville area? I'm asking because my elderly uncle was bitten by a tic last summer (not a deer tic), got a bullseye rash, waited some weeks before seeing a doctor who apparently gave him an injection of something but nothing more. Now he's having serious trouble breathing and thinks it could be related to Lyme (breath hunger symptoms?). He contacted me because I myself was misdiagnosed years ago and had to self-medicate, but I'm in DC and don't know anything about the Asheville area.

Many thanks for any information. And by the way, all other causes have been ruled out by other doctors. He's already at a diagnostic dead end.

I am being treated by the LLPA in Asheville and I think she is wonderful. Let me know if you have any questions. She worked with the LLMD in Asheville for many years, and now works with Dr. J in DC at least one week per month and sometimes more. She know Lyme very well.

please need a good lyme literate in ashville as well. we were about to register with doctor p in raliegh but he is 5 hrs away and his reviews were terrible

If you Google "lyme treatment asheville nc" you will find a lady that works with Dr. J's clinic in Washington, D.C. a week or two each month. She lives in Asheville and has her own medical practice. Her initials are A.W. Should be easy to find, as it's a small city.
