So, as some of you know, I was waiting to see my primary doctor to go over my IGeneX results. He had actually never seen someone with only IgM positive before, so he called the lab and spoke with them. Then he spoke with his LLND friend, who told him that I definitely need treatment. He's referring me to the LLND as soon as we can set up an appointment. Very happy about that because I have read some horror stories about doctors not believing in treating IgM tests. :)

My question...I have chronic achy pain in my forearms and shins. It's a little different than the joint pain (which I have in my knees and wrists) - it sort of feels like having the flu that never goes away. Does anyone experience this? I'm wondering if this is part of the Lyme or if I should get tested for co-infections.

I'm so happy to hear that you will be getting the treatment that you need, and a doc that is willing to work with you! Congrats!

I have the forearm pain, it's exactly how you describe, the achy flu/muscular pain, but I also get burning/tingling sensations. My arms and hands have become very weak, and it's gotten worse since beginning treatment. My LLMD says its definitely Lyme related, and probably more neurological.

All of my pain is flu like, I don't have it in my joints although they do pop or crack a lot. But I also have had a lot in my cervical spine and thoracic area that feels like somebody punched me really hard and you can barely touch it when I have it.

Glad you got diagnosed and hopefully it didn't take you yrs like a lot of us, I've been dealing for 15 yrs before a diagnosis.

Hope your treatment goes good, remember to detox.

Shin and forearm pain are often associated with bartonella infection. According to Stephen Buhner bartonella infects bone marrow as well as endothelial tissue.

Our daughter had these pains and treatment for bartonella has resolved the issue. Initial herxing on bartonella medication, especially A-Bart, resulted in increased symptoms so be prepared.

I have terrible shin pain. It feels like the muscle is pulling away from the bone & my shin looks faintly bruised. It's been like this quite a while.
