I was visiting a doctor (not my LLMD) yesterday and told him I have lyme, he was interested to look at my blood under the microscope for spirochetes. He found I have a candida overgrowth.. I was aware of the risk with long term antibiotics when I started.. I have been having some brain fog, depression and anxiety in the past few days wondering if it's lyme still present or candida infection? Anyone have experience with this?

I have been on a no sugar/grains/diary diet and taking diflucan and 200 billion probiotics for 4 wks as well as nystatin for 2 wks for systemic candida. I had a slight reaction to the diflucan on day 1 but haven't noticed a significant reduction in any of my symptoms of candidiasis (bloating/gas, discharge, fungal growth on face/neck) so now I will start taking Rock Rose Tea by Cistus Incanus next week to break up biofilm.

Are you on a probiotic?

I don't have it, but just a quick note - Wild Oil of Oregano is supposed to have health benefits for both Lyme and Candida. It might not hurt to give it a try.

I take about 50 million probiotics a day.. Do you typically have to stop your antibiotics when you have a candida overgrowth?

I had yeast infections on/off throughout treatment but mine were not severe enough to stop treatment. IMO. I just watched what I ate, when I was bad with sugars/white food - I could feel it the next day.

To keep mine in control while I was on antibiotics I drank kefir or had yougurt once a day and I took Azo yeast tabs 3x/day.
