Looking for help with a research project

That's a lot of questions! I guess I will share my experience.
I used prescriptions and herbals as my treatment. My experience is that they are both helping me however I am getting more pronounced gains in health from the prescription medication. Positive aspect is more noticeable quicker results although still long term, the downside is it is harsher on my stomach obviously. The herbals worked and had less gastro intestinal side effects. But in the end I combined them to hopefully have the best possible results. I think in the long run I plan on combining both prescription and herbal medicines together.

The current most successful protocol against Borrelia borgdorferi (which I cured myself twice with after being bitten both in 2010 & 2012) is a pulsed combo, taken every other day, of Minocycline taken together with Tinidazole for 42 days. Only one oral dose of each need be taken every other day. Typical dose for a 180 pound man would be Mino-100mg + Tind-250mg.

In addition one must add some sort of extract (or raw food or food cooked at no more than 165F) containing natural Amygdalin (not Laetrile) like Pinella, Wild Cherry Bark extract or even 5 chewed apple seeds a day to kill the Borrelia that are not actively reproducing. If 10 drops of the herbals are taken in a tea with the same natural ingredients as Celestial Seasonings Red Zinger Herbal Tea, one will be adding more natural anti-bacterial ingredients to the mix to kill the spirochetes or mature round body forms not in the process of replication. One's goal should be to add 25 micrograms of amygdalin a day to their diet, every day, for the entire 60 days.

The Tinidazole will disrupt the DNA containing round body forms sometimes called cysts or blebs when the DNA starts to generate a new spriochete.

The Minocycline will kill the spirochetes actively dividing.

The Amygdalin will kill the spirochetes not in cell division, they have no resistance to the -CN molecule produced but human cells will neutralize it into thiocyanate if they are exposed to it.

Expect a good herx at 2-4 weeks when the Tinidazole kicks in.

One will get rid of ALL the Borrelia in 60 days this way if the herbals are continued on a daily basis after the antibiotics are taken.

If one adds a daily combo of the 4 ingredients found in a product called TriBiotics (by NutriCology for example), one will eliminate many co-infections also. The ingredients are: Artesiminin,Berberine, Citrus Seed Extract and Black Walnut Hull.


For other digestive co-infections one can add Bactrim and Fluconazole or the equivalent, pulsed as needed.

Some of the herbs worked great, some not at all - others specifically designed to work for example as 'cyst buster herbs' were much more effective then the prescription antibiotic version.

2)Easy to obtain (can order online w/o physician)

3)Not as many adverse effects as abx

What were some negative aspects?

1) Many herbs took weeks before positive effects started to take place, this is common with many (though not all) herbs

2) Can be difficult to find a good herbalist to guide treatment

Would you consider switching treatments?

No longer in treatment but if I were-I would not have switched what I was doing because it was working. Again, I used both abx and herbs at the same time.

It seems she/he got scared off. It's too bad since that would help spread the word about Lyme and treatments. I hope they'll check back in.

Hi cured twice, I hope to be the next cured once but do you think 500 mg twice daily of tinidazole and 100 mg twice daily of minocycline is enough to kill the Lyme disease? Or do i need to take more? I've been nuking it like this daily and I think it's dead to be honest but I just don't know for sure so I'm going to nuke it for a few more months just in case. I would like to add in herbs into the mix as well if possible.

Can you please let me know where exactly you got these herbals from? And if they are available in tincture form? I am going to need to order them.

Did you get these theories from your LLMD? I still have minor inflammation in my knees so I am thinking I need therapy for them now. Do you have anything to suggest for knee issues?

I don't think I can stop the minocycline because I also have bartonella and mycoplasma coinfections. Also my tinidazole is pulsed 5 days on, 2 days off so what pulse are you recommending. Every second day? The only issue I have with that is I don't believe the concentration of drug is high enough to get to all the body tissues and I believe the drug needs to be held at a certain concentration for awhile to be effective on the cysts. Sorry to challenge your frame of mind it's just that this is my frame of mind at the time being. But I am open to learning other methods too.

Also you are saying mino and tinidazole doesn't kill the active spirochetes. But research shows tinidazole does kill them, it kills the cyst forms, active spirochetes, and knocks out biofilms. Also minocycline still gets inside active spirochetes and binds to the ribosomes that make proteins, with protein production reduced they can't do as much anyways.

I have been 100% symptom free for almost 2 years now from the 2012 tick bite. I never did find an LLMD back then so this 'protocol' that I used is basically my own based on scientific literally hundreds of research papers I've read to figure out exactly why it worked.

I live in SW Florida but was bitten the first time in 2010 in Robbinsville, TN while building a cabin there by myself in 6 months. I was completely naive about Lyme so I thought I had ring worm on my arm and the flu. Let it go until I was on my hands and knees in the street from the joint pain. Went to the local Chota clinic where they did a normal blood test, saw elevated white blood cell count and gave me 3 weeks of Cipro 500mg twice a day. Saved my life but I ended up with a classic case of Chronic Lyme I guess you could call it. Brain fog, couldn't finish a sentence, insect bite type nerve pain pricks, muscle spasms, pain in my spine, and much more. I still didn't know it was Lyme because I didn't know anyone who had it.

My ex-wife called me one day to tell me from Indiana to talk told me she and her daughter had Lyme and finally went to Dr. B. on the East Coast who sent them to Dr. C. in Missouri who put them on his successful 30 day, multi-abx IV program and after 6 years of mis-diagnosis they finally got cured. Poor Kenz turned 16 the same time she got her negative culture tests back from Burascano's lab.

I told my ex, who I feel like I owe my life to now, about my severe joint pain. She explained that I still had Lyme and helped me get the Mino, Tind, Doxy, flucanozole and bactrim. I watched Dr. Sapi's 15 minute video on her battle with Lyme where she explained the co-infections, etc. and then I finally realized what was happening to me.

My huge advantage is that I have two degrees, one in organic chemistry, one in sub-cellular bio-chemistry (1972, I have never worked in that field tho), so I studied the chemistry of Borrelia's life cycle in the body to figure out how, when and where it finds the nutrients, chemical compounds it needs to replicate, and the forms it takes to survive. I literally read hundreds of scientific abstracts and full research papers to track it's lifestyle. I can supply links to anything you might want explained to you by a 'professional scientist'.

Was bitten again in 2012 when a tornado went through my front yard in Tellico Plains, TN, 60 miles from Robbinsville, NC. and stirred everything up as well as destroying about a hundred houses.

I have no agenda here except to explain how I got rid of Lyme twice. The first time was experimental and I did different protocols for a month or two at a time until I got it right, it took me the rest of 2010 to achieve the first cure to 100% symptom free.

The second time I got bitten on the back of the head and when I pulled the tick off I thought, "Oh no, here we go again!" I did exactly what I explained here and all symptoms disappeared in 6 weeks. I don't think I still had antibodies from the first bout since it was about 16 months from the first 'cure', Jan. 1010, to the second bite, May 2012.

Tinidazole has a linear depletion rate going to zero in about 72 hours. That's why you can pulse it every other day. It really takes a couple weeks for it to start working on the cyst form as they start to develop into spirochetes.

I did do 10 minutes of aerobic exercise a half hour after taking the Mino/Tind combo so that all my capillaries were opened up and the abx pumped to every part of my body. I would ride my 10-speed bike around the one mile loop around my neighborhood and then rest back to a normal sitting heart rate.
I read decades ago that it is a generally accepted fact that abx work 13 times better if you do this.

I just dug 150 feet of ditch through thick grass with a shovel to bury a rain drain pipe I needed in the last two days in the hot sun so I'm back in the best shape of my life and I'm 65 now! No pain or symptoms of any kind and my mind hasn't been this clear in years. Except for two nice blisters, lol.

I would like to say that I've studied all the other successful protocols I could find to compare them to what I did and found 6 absolute combined necessities in them required to achieve a 'cure'.

1. You must disrupt both types of reproduction that Borrelia uses, normal cell division and the development of a spirochete inside of the cyst form when the mini-chromosome in it matures into a spirochete.

2. You must chose both abx and herbals that can cross the blood brain barrier.

3. You must augment the abx with antibacterial herbals that work against gram-negative bacteria.

4. You must try to stay away from abx like Doxycycline that initiate the bleb formation which mature into the m-RNA/DNA containing cyst or round body form.

5. You must pulse the Mino/Tind (or abx with equivalent properties like Tigecycline) so that you trick Borrelia especially into thinking it is safe to come out of hiding which they do extremely well.

6. You must keep the anti-bacterial herbals in your system the full time. They don't initiate the bleb formation and are back-up to the pulsed abx's.

Also, by 'active spirochetes' I mean the ones that are mobile but not in their reproductive stage.

It helped me to understand what I was up against in fighting Borrelia when I read about what they need to survive, move about, and reproduce. They gets all of it's required nutrients from our own cells.

*Joint pain seems to come from them gathering hyaluronic acid from the synovial fluid. It is the lubricant.
*Nerve pain or other nerve symptoms comes from them gathering glutamate and acetylcholine from the nerve synapses.
*Brain Fog seems to come from the spirochetes in the white matter of the brain stealing the ATP from the pre-capillary sphincters in the capillaries in the white matter and thereby keeping some of the capillaries closed off in the capillary beds.
*Spinal pain and numbness or tingling in the extremities seems to come from them stealing the glutamate and acetylcholine in the nerve bundles branching from the spinal chord to the muscles and organs.
*Vitamin D3 depletion seems to come from their blocking the pores in the renal capillaries so that it can't be reabsorbed into the system.
*Insulin depletion seems to come from them stealing the insulin from the Islets of Langerhans. Cyst form has been identified there.
*Heart arrhythmia seems to come from them stealing the glutamate and acetylcholine from the nerves controlling the heartbeat.
*The recent increase in nicotine induced cardiac artery blockage may be caused by the acetylcholine binding outer surface protein Borrelia leaves behind after they have gathered what they need as they travel through the circulatory system of heavy smokers with chronic Lyme.

(*The 'toxin' in MS that causes T-cells to attack the myelin tissues of the nervous system is probably the same acetylcholine and glutamate binding outer surface proteins left behind by the Borrelia, too. Since it is a temporary outer surface protein, it would also appear to the immune system to be an antigen and antibodies would be produced to match it, drawing the t-cells.)

I think the better picture a Lyme sufferer has of what exactly is going on in their system allows them to better understand the difference between symptoms and herx. A lot of the 'side effects' listed on abx info sheets are actually herxeimer reactions to the killing off and resulting 'toxins' released by the dying bacteria.

How many drops of that WCB should I take each day? How long will a bottle last me. Also how many capsules of tribiotics should I take?

I didn't think the artemisinin took care of Bartonella? I am confused as to how that worked for that infection.

How long does the tea and tribiotics need to be taken for? Is it 1-2 months?

I am getting vertical and horizontal deep lines on my finger tips. Is this caused from the Borrelia eating up my hyaluronic acid?

Also are you taking anything special now for treatment or is it completely cured?
