as I mentioned in another threa dI just got a positive igenex test and am waiting 2 weeks till I can see a lyme specialist.

Meanwhile my main symptom right now is tinnitus. I also had some ear clogging last week. The thing is, the tinnitus started (and ear clogging) about a week into taking doxy. I took ten days of doxy starting march 18th, stopped, then got back on it (for a long treatment to be) once I got the positive test results yesterday.

I am wondering if the lyme is causing tinnitus, or if the doxy is stirring something up, or if it may be a reaction to the doxy?

I hate this , I hate this all and am not happy about it.

I wish I could see the llmd sooner but am glad at least I have a good person to see soon. I hope I can clear this all up.

How often do you get tinnitus? I get mine in my right ear and it was happening around once a week. My last occurrence was last night though, but it only lasted for less than 15 seconds last night. Before it would go for like 1 or 2 minutes.

It's something to do with Lyme in the nerve that connects to the ear. It is likely do to the Lyme toxins.

For me it comes on suddenly out of no where. But it has been happening less frequently in occurrence though.

Lymepickle- how log have you been treating and have you found success with treatment? Can I expect to get better?

I just went to my LLMD last week. I have constant tinnitus and he said that is usually Babesia. I have every other symptom of Babesia so we are almost certain I have it.

I started treating it herbally and it got worse for awhile and now it only happens every so often.

gosh I hope I don't have babesia. Is it likely to be so if I don't have the other symptoms? The dr I am going to in two weeks thank goodness is very well versed in lyme and coinfections. So thank goodness he can help fully diagnose me. the natropaths I see so far are pretty weak- they do agree in long term antibiotics and treating aggressively, and herbal treatments, but they are not strong doctors able to do a proper diagnosis- I always feel completely unanswered every time I see them. they didn't even tell me to take a igenex test 6 months ago when I presented- they were like, well none of the tests even help. Yet if they had I would have known a lot sooner. ugh.

I wish I could see the goo doctor tomorrow. I actually booked an appointment two months ahead of time to see him, and he doesn't accept insurance so I have to pay out of pocket. But if he can help get me well I am so glad for that.

Ringing in the ears is babesia!!! Then that would be my only babesia symptom! So I have just had ringing in my right ear for 30 seconds yesterday, I wonder if that could be babesia.

I hope I don't have to treat for babesia as well... I thought babesia is the one that makes everything 10 times worse? Also I thought babesia was more along the lines of air hunger, night sweats, extreme fatigue, lots of damaged red blood cells.

Ringing in the ears for 30 seconds....???

My ears have been ringing nonstop for over three years. I'd love it if I had only 30 seconds of ringing ears a few times per week. :)

I have had tinnitus constantly since Jan 2009. No break from the constant torture. Prior to Jan 2009 it came and went and I thought it was caused by some of the meds drs had me on cause weeks after the meds stopped the tinnitus would stop.....until Jan 2009. Tonight the tinnitus is very loud.

Ya 30 seconds... This morning it happened for 2 seconds and was very faint that I could hardly hear it.

So I am hoping that's progress?

So far, I am using cryptolepsis, sida acuta, and chanca piedra for the babesia. My night sweats have gone away and so have my air hunger.

My doc prescribed me malarone for it, I'm just too scared to take it!

I'm sure tinnitus could be Lyme too not just Babesia. I have also read that Zithromax can cause ringing in the ears.

You are right with the other symptoms of babesia, I have the night sweats, air hunger, walking on a rocky boat feeling. I have never been fatigued with this whole thing though. My energy has been pretty constant and I sleep about 8 hours every night.

My red blood count was on the verge of being low with my latest blood work so we are keeping on eye on that.

I have tinnitus that got worse when I started antibiotics. Now it has gone from a monotone ringing to cricket sounds. I have neuro Lyme but not Babesia (or at least I was negative for Babesia). It's really annoying. I generally leave the tv on during the day to help me forget and have to sleep with a noise maker.

I notice it gets worse when I expose myself to a lot of noise (like today I went to the mall...big mistake).

Ames same here, tv is about the knly solutuon I found to drown, offset the noise. Moet ghe time dont watch tv just on for the tinnitus.
