Feeling really overwhelmed.  Was on Doxy...which didn't seem to do much. Switched to Bactrim and within one day my head pressure got worse and I have ringing in my ear.  I am also on Azythromycin (which seemed to cause pain at the base of my skull and neck stiffness).  My LLMD suspects I have Bartonella because I only have Neuro signs ( facial twitching, tingling and head pressure).  I am really scared.  I am a mother of 4 young children and I just want my life back.  Anyone with neurological symptoms that got worse and then got better?

Oh honey, my heart is with you. Your four kids are lucky to have a parent that is such a fighter like you. Did you call your doctor about the symptom increase? It might be you herxing fr the new treatment. So try to stay calm. I had horrible concussion like symptoms, dizzy, motion sick, sound sensitivity, pressure, inflammation light sensitivity, even mild tracers and hallucinations. It has fluctuated over time but honestly it was much worse a year and half ago than it is now so it can get better! My head stuff is now more cognitive and less physical, but I still have headaches and eye problems.
Please be sure to monitor the pressure. And if your head is getting inflamed. It's important to make sure you don't get brain encephalitis. Not trying to scare you, I just have had a few family members die from stroke and brain aneurisms. My head gets inflamed sometimes and I have to check how much it's changed and determine how dangerously swollen it is. I haven't gone in for it yet, but it is something I am just learning more about now and how the cyst form of lymes create inflammation in the brain tissue. The white blood cells struggle to reach the brain and fight the infection. Then the cyst and biofilm a make the bacteria difficult to reach. This process continues as the blood cells attach to the biofilm and then are shed only to make the cyst stronger.

Thank you Roots...how do we ever know if the things we're experiencing are herxes or side effects/toxicity from the meds we are on. I can not believe how my life has changed over the past 4 months. I'm scared. I also think...at what point do you go to the hospital to make sure my head pressure isn't something dangerous...and if I do go the doctors there are probably going to completely poo poo the Lyme diagnosis and not treat me for it. It makes me feel so vulnerable in soooo many ways.

Herxes will come and go more than issues from the abx. If you drop your dose down (by say 1/2) for a few days and your symptoms decrease in those few days, then you know that it's a herx most likely.

If you are concerned about the amount of head pressure, be sure to contact your LLMD.

I have only neuro signs too, and doc thinks Lyme, Bart and Babs. Last week I got a rash on both hands and called my LLMD. He took me off the doxy and switched it to Omnicef. . I am also on azithromycin and Mepron.
3 days after I started on Omnicef I got a real increase in the vertigo/balance, tinnitus, and slurring speech so bad it sounded like I had a stroke. I waited it out and today it's manageable. definitely keep a diary so you can see patterns - that's really key!
If that pressure doesn't subside, call your doc...
Keep your chin up and keep me posted cause it sounds like we are in very similar boats!

I skipped the am dose of Bactrim and am waiting to hear back from my LLMD. Thought maybe the doxy wasn't fully out of my system when I started the Bactrim and maybe that was too much for me?? May take the nighttime dose or just wait till tomorrow am to start again. She want's to start Ceftin also in another 3 weeks. I pray the head pressure subsides and I can start to feel normal. Facial twitching also increased with the start of Bactrim.
