If you've not had a colonoscopy before, it's the prep that's the challenge. The procedure is really a "breeze" as you won't remember it at all. Here are some tips for the prep that have helped me on the several preps I've had to do:
Drink the prep with ice and through a straw (less awful taste)
Chew gum between glasses of prep - helps remove the salty/bad taste
Use Neosporin on your bottom right from the very beginning - and very often = it will help with it getting/feeling raw from the frequent bowel movements/diarrhea you will have
I eat VERY lightly 2 days before the procedure and then start the liquid diet an entire day before the procedure - there is less that will have to "come out" if you will.
Good luck! Again, the procedure is "nothing" - just take good care during the prep.
