I probably have had Bartonella for 2 years, adrenal fatigue or whatever you want to call it for 7 years (brought on by severe and recurrent anorexia long ago), and Lyme for almost 1 year.
I caught the Lyme about
3 weeks after I probably contracted it and started on doxy, but I did not get much better, and I relapsed whenever I stopped doxy. My docs quit giving me abx since they said I was "healed," so I used the Buhner herbs until I could start seeing a good LLMD. Finally, I'm starting Bartonella and adrenal treaments (as in, this week or next).
Am I "screwed" at this point (pun intended!) for having had Lyme for 10 months but not having had the Bart or adrenal fatigue treated until now? As in, do I now have chronic Lyme, even though I caught the Lyme early and tried to treat it?
I do have copious floaters, interstitial cystitis-type symptoms, and general brain issues, but I don't have arthritis or any joint issues (yet). I have intense Bartonella symptoms. I did have a prolonged (and still ongoing) herx when I started Biaxin and Plaquenil a month ago.
I am just scared. Originally, I thought I was one of the lucky ones who had an EM rash and caught their Lyme early, but now it's starting to seem like it was to no avail since I had untreated Bartonella and adrenal fatigue all along...
New Lymies (those who catch it early) need to know that if their treatment isn't working they should get coinfection tests and treatment asap!
Oh, and reading over the long Bartonella thread, - it seems hard to treat. Can you get over Bartonella?
